I don't know if this recipe will do as it does contain eggs but I know that some people that call themselves vegetarian do eat them.
Chocolate and Pear Trifle.
Bottom Layer
I packet Brownie mix ( Baked and cooled)
Custard Layer.
3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
1/3 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 3/4 cups Milk
4 Egg Yolks beaten
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
Pear Layer
1 1/4 cups sweet white wine
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons grated lemon zest
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
6 large ripe pears, peeled, cored and cut in 1/2" wedges.
Garnish
1 cup heavy cream whipped
grated chocolate
Marashino cherries
Prepare and cool brownies cut into 1" cubes.
In a heavy pan mix the sugar, flour, nutmeg and salt. Gradually stir in milk, eggs and Vanilla extract. Cook over a medium heat, stirring constantly, until it has thickened. Cook and stir for a further 2 minutes. pour into a bowl and cover surface with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 4 -6 hours.
Mix the wine, sugar lemon zest, nutmeg and cinnamon in a large skillet. Cook over a low heat, stirring constantly until sugar has deissolved. reduce heat and simmer until it had reduced by half. Add sliced pearsand stir gently to coat. Bring to boil then reduce heat. cover and simmer for 4 minutes until pears are tender. stir occaisionally. When pears are cooked remove with slotted spoon and discard liquid. cover pears and refrigerate for 4 hours.
Place 1/2 the brownies in a glass bowl cover with 1/2 the custard and then half the pears. Repeat layers. Refrigerate. Just before serving garnish top witn cream, chocolate and marashino cherries.

you can get birds choc trifle in the supermarkets make the custard mouse and the cream separate then put it in to even portions in small desert dishes or bowls
