Need help with paint colors?

Question

I have a dark green sofa and need help with a walls color and pillow cushions that will make the sofa disappear. Our living room has a granite fireplace to the ceiling and the rest of the room has white trim..

I would recommend a dark color on the walls so that the dark green sofa will blend into it, rather than stand out against it.
Here are some Sherwin Williams paint colors that would coordinate with the dark green:

Coastal Plain
Craft Paper
Palm Leaf

As for the pillows, I'm wondering if you want some "loud" colors or patterns so that you'll notice the cushions instead of the sofa, or if you want harmonious colors that will blend. If it's the former, then I think colors like bright purple, red or turquoise will look good. If it's the latter, then buy things in black, buff, brown, or gold.

If you don't like the the sofa color, you could use a slip cover, there are many available, in a range of colors. You could always go with a beige on the walls, or a warm caramel color. It would be neutral enough , that if you wanted to change the room up it wouldn't take anything more than accessories. If you like the green of the sofa, but it is just to big, you could carry the green over to the curtains in a pattern, like gingham, then have gingham pillows on the couch and that would pull it together. hope this helps some.

Lol, I gather you don't like your sofa. Have you considered wall paper. If your sofa is up against a plain wall, it's going to pretty much stand out against any color. I would pick a print or floral containing the dark greens and the colors of the granite in the fireplace and have sofa pillows picking up colors of the wall paper. Using the same color of the sofa will make it blend into the walls,
then use white , off white,or lighter shades of green for pillows..
