I don't know how many military people get on to Y! Ans., or whether they would know the answer to this: If a soldier is nicknamed (or codenamed) WEASEL, what attributes could this imply. The negatives are obvious.

Primarily, what are some good qualities that could be attributed to the nickname "Weasel".

We had a friend we dubbed Weasel... not too related to the animal... dang I don't even remember his real name. Anyway, he did the unthinkable... during our teenage shoplifting days, we'd easily yoink clothes from big department stores but this guy... no... he had to one-up us... he was able to get several nice shirts at one time from a small DKNY store. If you see this store in Ala Moana you'd think how the hell did he do that?
Anyway... from that day on he was named Weasel.

"Weasel" in the Military can be lots of things, most of them are the negative attributes. "Wire weasels" are the guys that crawl around in tight spaces to run wire on ships and planes, usually due to damage. On ships, they by-pass damaged sections for power, control, and communications.
A "Wild Weasel" was the nick-name for electronic warfare aircraft. They put out interference that hampers (i.e. Jammers) enemy radars and communications. A good scrounger might be known as a weasel. Tunnel Rats might be called weasels too.

Codenames mean nothing.

This is intentional, so that noone would be able to decide or identify anyone for being named that.

A nickname probably isn't as good being named Weasel, but it would depend on the circumstances.
