A lot of guys talk to me like I'm their therapist. They tell me their problems and then they compliment me about whatever, they say I'm a good listener, too. I want to talk about fun stuff though, and not how terrible you've been treated in the past. Does this mean something else, guys? Clue me in please.

If someone isn't sick, he doesn't need a doctor. They want help from you to avoid such problems in the future. If things are going well, why would they seek your help? Maybe just be honest with them and let them know you don't like their dwelling so heavily on bad past treatment?

It means they aren't attracted to you. This happens in reverse all the time, girls using guys as emotional ****-buddies. If you start making fun of their problems, they might not stop coming to you for empathetic support, but you can still have a lot of fun as they pour their hearts out to you.
