yes, there are a variety of them. But you may need to ask your grocery where they are hiding.

Often they are with the frozen breakfast food (I have not freaken idea why)

Sometimes they are with the health food (once again no clue why, they are not real healthy)

Sometimes they are with the real meat, fake turkey next to real turkey (this seems to me to be logical place for this stuff but it might confuse non-vegitarans)

Sometimes it is with the produce. (this also seems to be logical place)

Sanitarium make a range of vegetarian meat substitutes, some nicer then others. Labelled "Vegie Delights".

They make several different types of sausages (plain, barbeque, curried, chicken & lime, hot dogs), "bacon" rashers, sandwich slices, "mince" (makes a good bolognese), stir fry strips, Not Burgers, country style soy burgers, a veggie roast (comes with a nice glaze, pretty good) plus lentil patties and garden vegie patties (didn't particularly like either).

The sausages, slices and rashers live in the open refrigerators with the cheese, yogurt, etc. The burgers and patties live in the frozen section of the supermarket.

Very quick to prepare as you're mostly just heating the stuff through, rather then actually cooking it. I mostly eat the sausages, burgers and rashers. Good protein content so they're filling and all the usual condiments like gravy (vegie of course), tomato sauce and mustard can still be used.

Oh, yes! Tofurkey makes pretty good ones, as does Yves. You can also get some vegan analogues from Lightlife (I don't recall offhand if they make deli slices). At my local Whole Foods and at my local natural foods store, they're in the refrigerator section near the dairy case. Some stores might have them in the produce section.

Tofurky deli slices rule. They can be found at Trader Joe's or Whole Foods. You can also ask smaller health food stores to order them for you.

Indeed, there are quite a few, though some of them are kinda gross, in my opinion.

Any healthfood/specialty store with a refridgerator section should have some. Many of the larger grocery stores (any big enough to have a vegetarian section) have them as well.

To me Tofurkey is the best by far. Here is a link to their website:

You can find it at most Health Food Stores, aside from Sprouts. (not that I have seen) . I believe Safeway sells them as well. You can find in the produce section.

Hey all,

Don't try to consume too much vegetarian deli "meats" because they will just prolong your desire to eat animal based foods and can hinder your vegetarian plan later down the road.

Tofurkey makes great cold cuts. Also Yves has veggie bologna, ham and turkey. They are all very good.
