that's true, diet really is the best way. but the medication that is the most effective would be the statins like Lipitor. Of course, they are not for everyone.

Statins like Lipitor do work well to reduce cholesterol, but it comes with a cost of some fairly serious side effects, like possible damage to the liver after long term use.

Before trying prescription meds, I would try "Cholest Off," which is an all natural nutritional supplement that has gotten people -- including me -- excellent results. It is a popular supplement and you can buy it in many stores. Combine that with walking 30 minutes per day and losing a few pounds (if needed) and check your results after about 5 weeks. You will be surprised by how much your numbers can improve by making some lifestyle changes.

Lipitor. Natural statin is red rice. Side effect of statins mostly is extreme fatigue. Natural foods are best with oat meal and some mushrooms. Cholesterol LDL is old idea in 80s-90s and secondary cause to heart disease, people with low cholesterol still have plaques and heart attacks; ox-LDL is new concept from 2000 and primary cause to an artery plaque.
