A piece of plywood ( cut to the width needed ) set on top of 2 saw horses.. If you really can't find any chairs, have each child bring one ( not the best idea ). I would call the local American Legion ( or other organization ) and ask what they would charge to rent their chairs.. Cover the table with a cheap plastic table cover. You must make sure the plywood is cut to the proper size/

You don't say how old the kids are.
We put an old blanket over our table then a sheet of plywood over that. It doubles or triples the size of the table. Use a sheet for a tablecloth.
Serve finger foods, people can sit or stand with whatever seating is available. Let the kids sit on the floor or cushions. Don't try to seat them all. Even at a fancy cocktail party, there are seldom enough seats to go around.
Plan the menu around fingerfoods!

Look into renting a set. They are not expensive at all. Plus they deliver for you. Or try your local church to borrow one.

Why not put blankets on the ground and have a teddybears picnic?
