Sounds like an abcess and it is infected. I bet it looks and smells really gross! You kitty probably got in a little fight with another. Since you are young, you can probably talk a vet hospital or shelter into helping you. When I was young, I found a kitten that had been hit by a car and the vet agreed to help as long as I did small chores around the clinic a few hours a week for the entire summer.

Your cat will need antibiotics to help him get better. He will also most likely need the sore drained.

Another suggestion is to go onto Petfinder.com and search for your local shelter. They may be able to help you.

EDIT*** do not try to clean or drain it yourself. It will be pretty painful for your kitty and he may try to bite you. Also do not bandage it either. The wound will need to breath in order to heal. The key will be antibiotics.

Well, I am not a vet. But, I recommend that twice a day try to push out all the clear stuff until the blood comes after then stop pushing and then put antibiotic ointment over the wound. The best thing would to keep him inside til the infection is gone and the wound is not pushing out clear stuff anymore. Do not use alcohol, this will not feel good at all to the cat. Try bandaging the area and see if he tries to take it off. If so then you need to get from the vet or a low cost vet an elizabethian collar. This is shaped like a funnel and will stop your cat from licking the wound (this is if he starts cleaning the antibiotic off). This should hold him from infection til your mom gets back. Then maybe she could help for the vet bill. Hope your mom gets better. God is watching her carefully.

The peroxide may sting, and soap can make a cat nauseous if they try to get it off if you don't remove all of it. If it is an abscess, I'd use a hot washcloth (wet) to dab at it after you've lightly pressed any goo out. The goo is pus, it won't smell good either.

Use a kleenex to sop up the goo, then the washcloth. Then the Neosporin. Do that twice a day but don't bandage it. An abscess needs to heal from the inside out and it needs fresh air. If a scab forms in the first week, make sure to take it off or you'll just get more infection growing under it and be back to square one. You'll see healthy healing after a week and can let the scab stay on then.

My dog had something like it on her head an I took her to a vet an it happened to be something like a ingrown hair that got infected there was another word they used for it but I cannot remember what it was called. I rumbed it once an this blackish brown stuff came out of it with a fowl odor an it looked like a string of hair or worm. I smelled so bad an like watery stuff came out after. I couldn't afford a vet, but they took payments on it because the surgery cost me 250 but it was worth it or else they said my dog would of died from the infection inside her head. I would get to a vet asap. Good luck

I hope your cat is doing better. Just for information (and perhaps it will be of use to you), sugar is an excellent disinfectant. Yes, sugar. I am a wildlife rehabber, and when our babies get abcesses, we clean it out and put sugar on it. Sprinkle some sugar on it several times per day. If you can put him on some amoxicillin, that would be great. The sugar will help dry up the oozy stuff and help the flesh heal faster. I have used this many times and it works wonderfully.

Good luck to you.... I hope he is better already.

You can try www.SPCA.com to find a humane society near you. Your cat has an abcess and really needs the wound cleaned. You can dry warm water adn repeatedly flushing the wound, but really, he needs medical attention.

I am sorry that I dont know how you can treat that without antibiotics. At least put some of that betadine on it. If he looks like it will kill him you can also always give him to a shelter so he can at least live. Keep him inside if you have no money, and this kind of thing should not happen.

i am not a vet but i have job shadowed my vet for many years, YOU NEED TO GET HIM TO A VET ASAP. with any sort of mass like that needs to be treated by a veterinarian because it could be a small Benin tumour, cancerous tumour, etc. i would also watch him/her for a while to see if he/her is acting any different then usual. i have a feeling that it is a past wound that could have some sort of infection.

Probably an infected cut or bite.
Try calling your local HUmane society for low cost vet care and pet supplies. Explain your situation and they will usually help.
