Yes, but they don't work with normal slider dimmer switches correctly. Dimmable CFLs are not really dimmable. They are 3 stage bulbs. You need a three stage switch to get them to work right. If used with a cheap slider dimmer switch you will have trouble getting them to the level you want them at.
I should know I have two CFLs I got from wal-mart and one incandescent bulb on a simple dimmer switch in this room right now. Do make sure that they say they are dimmable. Otherwise you will damage the bulb.

that is the major problem with the new power saver bulbs, they don't have dimmer capability as yet,
the only power light i have dealt with is a three bulb l.e.d. light but it does not have a cord but batteries, if you wished to leave it outside you may find it being stolen it is a very expensive spot light, but it does work very well.

I believe there are dim-able flourescents in the market place now, But I havnt a source for ya try. Lowes Walmart usual culprits
