I'm a little bugged here and yes it makes my pressure rise :) But seriously here is the deal.
I'm up and about doing normal daily stuff. I stop sit down, feet flat on the floor relax for 2-3 minutes, take my pressure it is usually about 135-140 over 96-95. I know, by AMA standards this is high, but not so fast Okay, got that so far?
Now I go into my bedroom, at any time during day, lie flat on my back, meditate, breath steady for about 5 minutes or so, then take my reading. Now it is almost always 110-115 over 70-77.
So what is the verdict here. Am I a high blood pressure kinda guy or what?
I know, I know, it ranges, but what measurement type determines, high, or noormal. totally relaxed on one's back, or up and about doing normal daily tasks?

It is perfectly normal for your blood pressure to fluctuate in the way you describe. Your blood pressure is high, but not alarming. You may wish to ask your doctor about an aspirin plan. If you smoke, this can cause high blood pressure, too. My mom was on blood pressure meds for years... then she stopped smoking and BAM! Just like that **snap** she didn't need the meds any more.
It might pay to take a look at your diet and see what's up. Maybe cut out nicotine, caffeine and chocolate.
Oh, and the blood pressure you want to pay attention to is the blood pressure of when you are doing your daily activities. I monitor my own blood pressure, too. It's because whenever I am at the doctors office, my blood pressure shoots through the roof! My doctor thought I had high blood pressure... turns out I just don't like him, lol! I have a condition where I have to get blood drawn every three months, so that's why I get twitchy at the docs office...

first, change in position results in change in blood pressure, so the difference between sitting and lying down will always be there. And it doesn't count for much. If you want an accurate blood pressure, you will get it sitting on the side of your bed first thing every morning and keep a record of it.
Doctors diagnose hypertension by the averages, if you have a pressure of 130/90 or greater on more days than not, at any given time, then you have hypertension and it needs to be treated.

Blood pressure will change while you standing or laying down its called Orthostatic Hypertension.
To be considered hypertensive you need to have 3 separate readings on 3 separate days (by most standards) of high blood pressure. Regular blood pressure is determined by age, and you should consult your doctor.
High blood pressure untreated can lead to headache's dizziness, Blindness, etc. And can also lead to death.

The bottom number is the one that counts. Your is 95 or 96 which is way too high. It goes down to 77 when fully relaxed but the majority of time during the day you are active so I would say you have high blood pressure. It should only go up to 95 when really exerting yourself. Just a regular walk around kind of day should be 80 or even lower all the time.

Its normal for blood pressure to vary. I take mine at night while I'm relaxed. A lot of people's blood pressure goes up at the doctor's from nerves. 120/80 is perfect--yours at 128/84 isn't bad really. My doctor put me on medication when it got to 145/90.

You could be borderline at this time......If your pressure does not go down after sitting and relaxing when you have been up and doing things, then you need to go talk to your Dr.
Keep monitoring it, just like you have.....
Good luck........

I wouldn't depend on myself to decide. You need to consult a doctor. This is nothing to play around with.
