I see it in retail stores for displays and signs. I think it must be horrible for the environment. It is used for temporary signs than thrown away. I am in need of a rigid signboard that is recycled or at least sustainable.

To answer your question quickly, everything is recyclable and reusable to a point, your product can be reused as insulation. What is need is a greater market demand for recyclable and reusable goods. Bottom line is it starts with the consumer first by demanding sustainable goods. Then next, convincing our legislature to enact sweeping consumer changes (if the profit driven market will not respond). However this is usually a double edged sword because our legislature is funded by producers of market goods to keep things as they are; By just throwing it away and buying new. Especially when it comes to petroleum based products.
