hi...my name is ileana.
im only 14 and i was told i have a hole in my heart...
i would like to know if anybody knows what they do in those cases...
its not surgery but they said they would put something on the hole and the the muscle will grow around it...
\any help would be gr8.
i would also like to meet people with thge same problem,...

hey there! my mom has a hole in her heart and my brother recently got heart surgery two years ago when he was 9 for a heart valve that wasn't connected. What you have is common because it happens to one in four people. You are lucky to have found it though because most people don't. The condition you have is called patent foramen ovale. You will see a red and blue arrow. In the middle of both the arrows is where your heart connects and basically what they are going to do is connect that part because you're missing it. Hope that helps :)

What they are not telling you is that we all have a hole in our heart, when we are born, but, it usually closes at birth or shortly there after, when it doesn't like yours, then surgery has to be done but, don't worry. Today surgery is so different then it was even ten years ago, you wouldn't believe it.

I remember fifteen years ago a friend had triple bypass surgery and he was out of work all summer. I had six bypasses awhile ago and I was on my feet and working in my wood-working shop in my basement in three days. I was taking it easy but, the fact remains, it's way different.

Truly sorry to hear about this . There have been many advances
in this procedure to repair the heart .
