let me tell all the people who have left stupid comments. pagans and wiccans dont even believe in the devil, and they arent against jesus. their religion clearly states they are allowed to worship goddess and god. as a pagan, they are allowed to have a second religion.

When I was still a Christian, the Wiccans I knew were among the very few people who really deserved respect. They were the ones who never changed their attitudes when I changed my beliefs. Now that I'm no longer a Christian, that is one of the many things that has not changed. I still respect them. I have never met a Pagan or Wiccan who has failed to show the same respect in return.
My girlfriend is Wiccan, and so is my step-daughter from my previous marriage.
EDIT: It is pointless to tell the Christians what Pagans and Wiccans believe, because they will simply ignore you. If they do not demonize the religion, they have no basis to bash, condemn and generally hold themselves higher. Most of them know the truth, but still use whatever excuse is available.

I think the same of them as I think of anyone else. If they are nice to me I will be nice back, no question. Though most would say that I am a fairly open-minded person. If my best friend was a witch, great for her! In fact, we do like to celebrate some of the pagan holidays together. It is a way to reflect and just be with each other. So no, I have no problems with anyone whose religion is different than my own. Why should I?

I'm not going to be rude to anyone because they are a wiccan or pagan, and if a close friend told me that that was their choice, that's fine. I doubt it would affect our relationship from my end. I have no idea how my answers make me seem, but I *think* I am a pretty laid back type of gal when it comes to other peoples' choices. I say that because I've been told that and because not a lot shocks me. It shouldn't. Before I became a Christian I did it all myself.

However, witchcraft uses power that is not of the Lord. There are two sources of supernatural power on the earth --- demonic power and the Lord's power. Any time you are using divination you are trying to go above God's head and get information that He hasn't seen fit to give you. And any type of spell casting is trying to control things that He didn't put you in control of.

(Btw *any* type of ritual that thinks it will get a result just by the ritual is witchcraft, no matter who is doing it. The Lord is far too creative to be treated like a heavenly slot machine. This is why some Christians preach against what some people call 'religion' --- because some people have made a system out of a relationship and homey don't play that game).

I have one of those faces that rarely looks shocked so I'm pretty good at getting along with everyone, but I wouldn't lie and say that I think that witchcraft is something good or that it's anything other than dealing with the devil(s). I'd probably only volunteer this information if asked for my opinion though, otherwise I'd just let them be them.

As for paganism, I don't consider it to be any different from any other religion. I accept Jesus' claim that He is the only way to God.

Because as you can see Christianity is an evil empire based on hate, murder and lies. Although we worship a loving creator and have never harmed anyone, and they worship a hateful death-god and have murdered millions, they will continue to claim that they are good and we are evil. People were fooled for centuries because they controlled the sources of information (books and word of mouth) and they had the money and the political power. Today things are changing. Historical information is now available to all, on the internet, and people are realizing what their religion is all about. In addition we are now free to speak our minds without fear of being tortured or murdered by them. Now that that is happening, their false and hateful religion is falling apart and the genuine spirituality of ancient beliefs is once again being practiced. Too bad it took so long and so many innocent people had to die in the process. It's not a matter of there being more than one spiritual path... that may be true, but they follow no valid path I can see.. they follow a path of hate and murder, and we have to fight them... but not using their methods, of course... we have a better tool... it's called the truth. When the light of truth is shined upon them, they are destroyed by it. That's why they work so hard to keep up the lies... truth destroys them, and they fear it more than "satan". Jean

From what I have been able to learn so far:

Wicca is a Neopagan religion, which started in the late 1940s. However, its symbols, days of celebration, beliefs and deities go back to about 800 B.C.E. and the beginnings of ancient Celtic society.

Some Wiccan are
+ Monotheistic, recognizing a single supreme being, "The All" or "The One"
+ Duotheistic, worshiping a female Goddess and a male God, "the Lady and Lord"
+ Polytheistic, recognizing many ancient Gods and Goddesses, like Pan, Diana, Dionysius, Fergus, etc.
+ Atheistic, viewing the Goddesses and Gods as symbols, not living entities

Some Wiccans consider Wicca and Witchcraft to be the same thing. Others think that Wicca (a religion) and Witchcraft (the practice of magic by anyone) are different things.

Most Wiccans practice magic. However, some concentrate only on the spirituality of the Wiccan religion and do not practice magic.

In Christianity, Satan is a fallen angel, the devil. Wiccans recognize neither Christ nor Satan and are therefore not Satanists.

Wiccan behavior is governed by the Wiccan Rede which permits Wiccans to engage in carefully considered actions (including magic), as long as they harm nobody, including themselves. Therefore, they claim that they are limited to non-manipulative, consensual, positive magic.

Other pagan groups that use witchcraft do not follow this rule.

http://www.holysmoke.org/wicca/satvnp.htm
http://www.witchway.net/

+ Point 1: How can anyone possibly be wise enough to properly determine every possible consequence of the use of magic?

Have you ever herd of the "butterfly effect"?

The phrase refers to the idea that a butterfly's wings might create tiny changes in the atmosphere that ultimately cause a tornado to appear (or prevent a tornado from appearing).

This is an example of the more technical notion of sensitive dependence on initial conditions in chaos theory. Small variations of the initial condition of a nonlinear dynamical system may produce large variations in the long term behavior of the system.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butterfly_effect

+ Point 2: Monotheistic religions like Judaism, Christianity, and Islam disagree with the Wiccan view of God and magic.

Christians believe that all supernatural power (including magic) either comes from God or Satan. God did not intend humans to wield this power. We request (pray) God to do some good thing like a miracle but we acknowledge God’s will first, “Thy will be done.” Using supernatural power puts us in contention with the will of God and even in the position of being God.

Catholic Church teaches:

All practices of magic or sorcery, by which one attempts to tame occult powers, so as to place them at one's service ... - even if this were for the sake of restoring their health - are gravely contrary to the virtue of religion.

For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, section 2117: http://www.nccbuscc.org/catechism/text/pt3sect2chpt1.htm

With love in Christ.

Why do you say Christians and Catholics as though these are two seperate groups? Catholics are the original Christians and remain strong Christians to this day. Of course schisms have occurred resulting in the myriad of denominations today. Regardless of denomination a Christian is a Christian.

I'd like to clarify that there are a number of atheistic pagans who don't actually worship a female god or any deity.

It varies from person to person. As a pagan I have some REALLY good Christian friends. My best friend EVER is a devout Methodist. She doesn't care that I'm pagan in the least. As a matter of fact, my atheist husband has a bigger problem then she does. Go figure.

edit:That's right enigma! We love fuzzy blue demons!!!!! (((((Enigma))))))
