We have

My, I have. What a question!

I have also changed the light bulbs in the common room at work.

I am one of the few who keeps shutting his computer down every time he leaves the company.

We got a new fridge six months ago because the old one was an energy hog.

We have a new washer/dryer for the same reason.

And we drive a hybrid now.

I don't like fluorescent light bulbs. They don't produce the light that the incandescent bulbs do. There other things in the house that use more electricity. It comes down to choice and preference

Went to new florescent bulbs ten years. ago, because it was win win situation. Cheaper to use and last much longer so. Only negative seems to be: as they get more market share their lifespan maybe going down, but might have got few bad ones.

I have changed some of them to the fluorescent type, but my wife doesn't like the light compared to the incandescent. I changed because, it reduces my electric bill. I don't think I will continue to use the fluorescent type because, they contain mercury and they are not supposed to be thrown in the trash. I believe LED lighting will replace incandescent very soon and they last much longer than incandescent or fluorescent.

If you are naive enough to believe that most people could care less about the environment and planet on which we live, then do something about it. Everyone I know has switched to energy efficient light bulbs and appliances.

Weird question, but easy to answer. I've changed plenty of light bulbs. So have most people.

If you had something else in mind, you need to clarify your question.

Why should I clog up the landfill with perfectly good lightbulbs. As my incandescent lightbulbs burn out , however, I am replacing them with compact fluorescents.

Are you aware that when you dispose of compact fluorescents that they contain mercury which may be more harmfull to the environment than continueing to use incandescent bulbs?

i have where i could but i have to use a 'normal' one in my daugters room as she's 3 and scared of dark and energy bulbs won't work with a dimmer. in the kitchen we have GU10 bulbs (small spotlights) if there is an energy efficient bulb out there which fits like a GU10 then you're more than welcome to mail me with an alternative idea. we try to be 'green' where we can. thank you
