Peanuts are very good for you, but have a lot of fat. So only a little bit. (watch out for the salted ones)
"Nuts are generally very rich in protein and also contain large quantities of fat . This means that nuts are included in the ‘protein’ food group along with meat, fish, poultry, eggs and legumes.
Although nuts are generally high in fat, this fat is mostly ‘monounsaturated’ or ‘polyunsaturated’.
Nuts are also quite good sources of dietary fibre and a wide range of essential nutrients, including several B group vitamins, vitamin E, minerals such as iron, zinc, potassium and magnesium, and antioxidants.
A health-promoting daily intake of 25–50grams of nuts is about one small handful. This corresponds to approximately 25–50 almonds, 12–24 cashews, 5–10 Brazil nuts, 30–60 shelled peanuts, or 12–24 walnuts.

Also, the best peanuts are raw and unsalted.
and trust me, stay away from the honey roasted.
Also, try having a few Brazil nuts every so often. A recent article in Men's Health said that they contain an enzyme that may help prevent cancer.
I do not claim to know the veracity of this claim, I figured I'd throw this out there.

That is very much a misconception, researchers have shown that peanuts are rich in antioxidants which can be very beneficial to the body. Also peanuts are rich in protien, a vitamin that is essential to our bodies. The downside of peanuts are that they are very high in calories and can be unhealthy if ate too much.

definitely not. As a vegetarian, your body isnt recieving as much protein as it should. Peanuts are an excellent way to replenish the protein that it is losing because of a lack of red meat.
