You can't get a virus from a friend invite. And you can't get a virus from an IM. You would have to accept a file or click on a link they send in order for this to happen.

No genuine message would be have to be passed on by cut & pasting to send to your contacts. The web host would send the message directly to all users.
It's not genuine, and as far as I can find out, those user names are fake.
