Then you can break the categories down even further. Classic portraiture, contemporary, wedding, Classic wedding, photo-journalistic wedding, wildlife, nature, landscape, seascape, cloudscape, industrial, urban etc etc etc

Yes there are - Portrait (as you mention), both formal and candid, Landscape, Still Life, Reportage, Street Photography. The list is endless

To add one to what the gentleman says above....Landscape, Wildlife, Urban, Architectural, the list goes on as well...there are no boundries when it comes to photography...

Just to clarify one point - "reportage" is actually called "photojournalism".
