Did you mean if the puppy gets excited? If that is what you meant, just enjoy it. That is why people get dogs in general, and puppies in particular. They (unlike people) are happy to see you every time you come home. IF the pup get so excited that they pee or poop when you get home, get a dog training book, and learn how to gently train your dog not to do that.

If you are asking about your puppy exiting -IE: running out the door when you get home, you can just get a folding gate, which goes in the doorway , which you can step over, but is too high for the puppy. Or keep the dog in a room where it can't run out before you close the door.

Do u mean exited (ran out the door) or excited ( happy to see u) please clarify ur question, can`t give u an answer if the question isn`t clear. If it`s exited, then gate him in a room where he can`t run of the door as u enter. If u mean excited, then greet him warmly, take him out to poo or pee immediately, if he does either then reward with praise and a treat. Puppies and dogs r always happy to see their owners. Return the affection.

Acknowledge it? Pet it and say hello. Check its food/water bowl. Let it outside to relieve itself.
