Oh DEAR . That seems to have rattled a few cages !!
So slavery exists all over the world. Does that make it ok in your books?
Can you point out where in my question I said that I hated CHINA?
Just because I criticise a country doesnt mean I hate it. I criticise my own country and Govt. Do you?
I see at least 1 of you are trying to blame the foriegners for this trade. How many foriegners were involved in this incident or was it just CHINESE people?
As for my point,it's quiet simple SLAVERY EXISTS IN CHINA!! do you understand now?

Are the posters here only allowed to write about the " Good " things? Because if you ignore the bad things they have a tendancy to flourish. Would you agree?

I hope you have all noted that i did not mention the Chinese Govt. in my question. It was CHINESE PEOPLE who were responsible for this obscene crime.

An interesting article. At least the authorities seem to be doing something about it, which is a step in the right direction.
And the media don't appear to have any restrictions regarding reporting, which is another step in the right direction.

All what's needed now is for China to waive the $60 visa fee they're trying to chisel out of me for when I travel over there in November, and I'll say China is the greatest country on earth.

And that's a promise.

Yes, i know
and you should know that slavery still exists in everywhere around the world.
Sad but true.
in my opinion though, this website is called Yahoo Answers!, and i think it's inappropriate to post news instead of questions, i think you should do a website and discuss this issue there, not here. We Chinese know our problems very well, i myself, have know that there is slave trading in China since i was very young, they report them on television in China, so we don't need YOU, to point out our problems when we already knows them. If you really want to help, you wouldn't have post this news, instead you'd be doing something that actually helps.

I don't want to believe that slavery still exists = anywhere in the world. It is really awful if slavery still exists in China. I pity these slaves. I hope as time goes by, this system would become extinct.
As a person, I'm not happy about it.

Yes, it still exists, unfortunately. And I am not saying this because I don't like China, on the contrary. I love China, the country, the people, my dearest friends are there, I took my children there and they all loved their experience. I have been traveling to China since 1984 and will still travel there, but nevertheless I am honest enough to say that there are awful and despicable things that I don't agree with that still take place there: child labour, slavery, corruption, abuse, etc.

I am aware that Chinese prisoners are force to making products. The legal system in China believe it is a fair for prisoners to repay the society.

Slavery is something that exists in all countries of the world today

"What is the best type of slave?"

"A slave who doesnt know he is one"

Slavery can be many things

Some would say that Capitalism is a form of slavery, the best form, because these slaves dont know they are one.

"An indentured servant (also called a bonded laborer) is a labourer under contract to work for an employer for a specific amount of time, usually two to seven years, to pay off a passage to a new country or home"

"Indentured servitude is not identical with involuntary servitude and slavery. However, the system of power it created was often an opening for physical, sexual, and verbal abuse, as well as legal abuses of contract. In these circumstances, the system can represent a form of unfree labour. For example, indentured servants may be forced to purchase goods or services from the employer in exchange for an extension to the period of their indenture, which could thereby continue indefinitely. In other cases, indentured servants were subject to violence at the hands of their employers in the homes or fields in which they worked."

and you may ask what that has to do with capitalism?

Consider now that you have to pay for everything even water[a god given right]

you wish to buy a house, some could say you indenture yourself for 25 years in order to do this

or you wish to buy a car you will indenture yourself for 4-7 years

in fact anything you wish to do you will have to indenture yourself to someone else to get it

as the goal of major capitalists is to own everything [including the air you breath] there will be no chance in the future to break out of the system and try to start a life of your own without indenturing yourself in one form or other and thus become a slave to the system

and before people answer with some political diatribe about communists or democracy think again please because only Brainwashed people think that Capitalism and Democracy are one of the same thing and that Capitalism is a political idiology.

It isnt

if it were then you would have to look at what captialist aims and objectives are

and they are to erradicate the opposition an be the sole supplier of items to be purchased

which i believe were the same views as Hitler on his climb to power except of course he was a political entity.

it is easy to look at others with regards to slavery when you are not looking at your own situation.

I do know. I have nothing positive to say about China or Taiwan. I'm just glad I've had a lucky escape.

Human lives are not really respected in a country which has more than 20 percent of the world population. That's why so many of them try to leave. Hopefully China will learn its lesson, but it's hard to say.

I have seen the reports on various CCTV programs several months ago. The problem is the local government has some connections with the workplaces. Most of the cases were exposed by the local media. At least the Chinese government is not hiding it and is doing something about it.

Your point? We should all hate China? China is bad? What? Posting that here means you have something against China, right? If you look, there are bad things every where. In the US the rich are getting tax breaks while the disappearing middle class sends their children to die in a war. The poor get nothing and Dubya is giving them less than ever and THEIR kids are dying in his war, too. In WWII the rich didn't get those breaks. So should everyone hate the US? Is the US bad? No. Only US citizens are who think everyone else is bad.

Slavery still exists all over the world, not just in China. Where do you think the sex slaves came from? Europe, Asia, even the ones in US. All being lured of hoping to have a great job as a waitress or models but only became in bondage and forced to work as sex workers.

I think your question is being affected by your attitude towards China.
