"...A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him; but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet," (Joseph Smith, HC, vol. 6:408-409).

It doesn't bother them because they worship Old Joe and not Jesus.

Nope. He's right. Followers did shun away when Christ was crucified. The saints though, stood, and still stand beside Joseph Smith.

I'm not Mormon and i don't really understand it fully but i just wanted to add because i know you feel very strongly about your beliefs but you also have to keep in mind so do the Mormons. you also have to keep in mind they think that the bible or your text is not the 1st or the truth and therefor to them the bible is wrong. who really knows what's right and wrong when it comes to faith? i know you believe your right but so does the Mormons they also believe their faith is the truth or right. just keep in mind all religions have things in common. over the years there have been many holy wars....and i think it's dumb....if you really believe in something then yes you are sometimes going to say you would die for it but who really knows the truth? have you died and met the Creator hI'mself. im not saying don't have faith but is it wroth fighting about? we could just work things out and find our common ground instead of killing and fighting over topics we really don't know all the answers to no matter how much we believe we do.

Why should it? I mean, maybe he shouldn't have bragged, but he was right. Jesus was pretty much alone when He was crucified. Even His Right Hand Man (Peter) denied ever knowing Him.
