Dana, hair extensions take a lot of work and training to do. You cannot do your own. Look for a good quality salon to do your hair. It's not unusual to pay $75 an hour, and depending on style, take an entire day to complete.

Wave can be sewn in and glued or clipped in with either loose or glue tipped hair. Both of these options take many hours and are very expensive so make sure to find a reputable stylist before shelling out the dough, also the quality of the hair used is important real hair is better then fake.

I like temporary extentions - it's just like a ponytail holder with a lot of fake hair tied to it. There are also clips. You can find them in accesory shops at the mall, or at beauty supply stores. I make my own, it is not difficult. It is a different style than the full glued or braided extentions, but there is no more damage to the hair than the average hair binder inflicts.

Whatever you do....DON'T GLUE IT IN!!
I made a dumb decision before and had extensions put in when my hair was already beautiful. When it was taken out, my hair had been ripped and a bit damaged. I had to get a hair cut after that, but at least I love my new haircut.
The best way is to cornrow your hair and then sew it in. Have it done by a professional. It's a little bit pricey, but worth it in the long run. You don't want to damage your natural hair.
