Over 95 percent of the eggs that are consumed in the United States are layed by hens that are factory farmed in a battery system, which means housed side by side in cages. These hens have never even seen a rooster much less been asked on a date.

I have three hens that I keep in my City Biddy Hen House. They lay wonderful fresh eggs every day and no loud rooster is needed. Check out this website. http://www.ubuilderplans.com for info on building a City Biddy Hen House of your own and check out

Yes, it is very true that hens lay eggs without the fertilization of the egg by arooster. The eggs that you buy at stores are not usually fertilized.

I believe so. I had many chickens who laid many eggs with no rooster around. When there is a rooster around, that is when the eggs can be fertilized. If you crack an egg open and see a small red dot, it has been fertilized.
