1. To answer my own question.. if I needed to lose a significant amount of weight I would go on the show in a heartbeat..

(but I couldn't be as cut throat as some of those contestants, they are vicious)

2. no, I wouldn't have a problem stepping up on the scale.

3. My problem would be the spandex pants & the sports bra. *lol* @

mzkimmie831: CONGRATS!!!

staymay: why yes - it is Ms. Jill Scott. :D She's the GREATEST!!!

I think exposing themselves to the world is part of the healing process. Remember alot of that weight gain has to do with insecurities -- not just hunger. They are feeding their hurt feelings, fear, demons, etc. That's why it is a good thing to make them do something so dramatic and out of the box!

At my heaviest I was 275 and it had to do with depression (my ex had an affair), financial issues, career issues. It just took me getting to rock bottom to pick myself back up and change 360!!

I am now 170 (still few pounds to go) but much healthier, happier, and thinner!!

I appauld them!! Good Health to All!

Who cares what people think of you. I would not miss out on a free opportunity to 1. save my life, 2. get professional services for free, 3. become a celebrity for 15min, 4 get possible subway endorsement, 5 and then some just because I'm embarrassed to take off a shirt.

People will talk about you if you are skinny or fat so If I were overweight .... I'm going for mine forget what the rest of the world thinks about me.
After they loose the weight you know they look HOT.
Most people are cheering for contestants on the biggest looser. I think only a person that in insecure would tune in just to ridicule.

Hey who is that on your Avatar? Jill Scott?

If I had a lot of weight to lose...I would try to get on the biggest loser. I would do whatever I needed to do to lose weight. Including getting on a scale, and removing my shirt if need be. Being overweight is dangerous to your health. Participants for the most part have had a lot of success with weight loss. Losing weight is not easy to do and any and all help should be accepted, even if I had to be embarrassed to do it!

I wouldn't go on the LOSER...

Look at the results the people attain. Why do it with all of the emotional pain and embarrassment?

It took me years to gain my weight with a sizable investment in food.

So I know now it will just take time to lose it.

Realistically I can lose 10-15 lbs. on a start off diet, but when I start my life style change diet it will slow to 3-8 lbs per month.

So it will take 8 to 10 month sot lose the weigh I want to lose.

BUT I WON"T HAVE BEEN EMBARRASSED ON NATIONAL TV!

Yes, my colleagues and I actually did our own version of the "biggest loser" and I got on the scale. I've been overweight my whole life so I was proud of my loss. When people see me now and think "you've lost 30 pounds" it makes me feel really good.

you know, if i was as large as the contestants on the show and i really tried to lose weight on my own and it didn't work, then i would be in my spandex pants and sports bra!
you have to admit the results are amazing and most if not all the past contestants have kept it off!
i think it's a little price to pay to finally get all that weight off and keep it off!

I would... it would be hard but I would. I personally applaud everyone on there they have more courage than most of us. plus they have the chance to accomplish 3 things: win money, lose weight (possibly extending their lives), and have a fitness trainer to help them that most people would die for. I guess it really all comes down to how badly you wish to lose weight.

if i was overweight there would be no way i would get on tv wearing the clothes they wear for the weigh in. I give them lots of credit for being able to do that and i know all their hard work is goin to pay off in the end.
