If a driver has the flu or any other illness, he most likely will be on medication. A lot of meds cautions against driving. Nascar is so strict about rules, maybe they should check on the driver's health and medication before he is allowed on the tract. It could be dangerous for the other drivers.

You have a point. I think all the drivers can do when they have a cold or flu is hydrate themselves, or hydrate intervienously as Denny Hamlin do. If they are allowed to take Tylenol or Advil, or even aspirin, I think most chose not to do so. You would definitely say no to Sudefed or any kind of cold medicine with steroids or efedrine. Prescription cold or flu medicine would result in a positive drug test. Yes, NASCAR cares and the competitors care even more. It is their lives at stake.

NASCAR has a list of drugs, both perscription and over the counter that drivers can use.If NASCAR suspects that a driver (or a crewman) is on one of the non approved meds they can be tested at any of the NASCAR sanctioned tracks.

yes Nascar does care and WATCHES them, before they take to the track for anything, Nascar DR JIM HUNT looks them over before they are allowed on the track.
