I'm looking for an AR-15 barrel like the one in the link below (The R-4 Lightweight), but in stainless steel instead of chrome molly or chrome lined. I'm beginning to wonder if they exist. Anyone know of any manufactures who make a barrel similar to this in stainless?

There are plenty of barrels manufactured for AR15's that are stainless, but I doubt if you'll ever find one anywhere in a 16" CAR "Lightweight" barrel, like the Rock River Arms barrel. Most Stainless steel barrels are Match Grade barrels and are 20+ inches or more in length and never made in a "lightweight" version.Just Standard and Heavyweight......Sorry

Bushmaster does offer several. Check out page 4 and 5(marked 34 and 35 respectively).

I believe when you say chrome lined, You are referring or the manufacturer is referring to the inside of the barrel and the inside of the chamber. You can get a Bushmaster Varmiter Express with a stainless barrel, But it is just a finish. Stainless steel is not strong enough to be a barrel.

If all else fails you can have one custom turned. AR15 Barrels.com will make any profile you want. Then for the front sight and gas tube use Brownells or Midway USA.

Try M&A they offer stainless barrels in many versions, I have built several AR type rifles from their parts/kits and swear by them. www.MAPARTSINC.COM
