pro-choice abortion, pro-choice homosexuality, and pro-choice fornication, and that everyone should be respectable of their choice, when the bible clearly speaks against it? We are supposed to forgive those who have personally wronged us, and we are not to judge the past sins of those who have turned from sin to follow Christ. However condoning and accepting the sinful choices of those who continue to sin is a whole other issue. We as Christians are NOT supposed to support the choices of ungodly actions, we are called by God to rebuke and correct those who do wrong. The bible says in 2 Timothy 3:16 (King James Version) “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”

Some of you need to spend more time reading your bible.
Luke 17:3 Take heed to yourselves. If your brother trespasses against you, rebuke him. And if he repents, forgive him.
1 Timothy 5:20 Those who sin, rebuke before all, so that the rest also may fear.
2 Timothy 4:1-3 Therefore I solemnly witness before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who is going to judge the living and the dead according to His appearance and His kingdom, preach the Word, be instant in season and out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine. For a time will be when they will not endure sound doctrine, but they will heap up teachers to themselves according to their own lusts, tickling the ear. †

Many of you seem to think that I am trying to judge sinners, I am not, and I myself am a sinner just as we all are. I am speaking to the Christians who say “I don’t see anything wrong with these sins, because everyone has a right to choose their own life style.” Christians are called to be set apart from the world, not to agree with it. †

I think we are called to love on another. All of these sins that you listed are sins. I agree whole heartedly. I think that if we walk in love towards our neighbor we can build relationships with them. The time may come when they confide in you about their sin. You then, can speak truth in love into their lives. Then we can share the hope that has come into our lives. God loves us. He died for us while we were yet sinners. It is God's will that none perish, but all come to repentance. I just thank God that when I was overcome with trouble and sorrow and shame weighed heavy on me, that God, in His mercy, forgave me and was willing to accept me as disgraced as I was.

If these were really issues that god wanted us to oppose, if god literally wrote the bible with literal translations of being anti-whatever (And that it's our bidding to punish these "Heathens", judge them, and not to promote the concept of praising his name instead), and if god really wantes us to take control of the political background of countries that have respective Christians: Then he would never mention anything about us chrstians allowing him to judge these people for the things he may consider wrong (Have you ever heard "Only god can judge me?"), and the comment "All sins are forgiven" would not be part of biblical text.
Concepts that we've changed over time such as not selling our daughters into slavery, and not believing in the mainstream of things that darker races are inferior would also not be eradicated: We wouldn't pick and choose, because we would live exactly the same as was lived nearly 2000 years ago.
You can't sit here and say this, because you're literally picking and choosing "Sins" (I don't think abortion was mentioned in the bible directly) that you personally consider worse than others, and the bible literally says they are on the same level. The bible also says "Love thy neighbor," and "Love god with all ye have": Being bigoted towards these things or concepts that people hold are both transcendances of those concepts.
It's best to accept everyone, and know that god will be the judge at the end of all of this. Aborters, homosexuals, and fornicators would be killed already if god hated them more than killers, thiefs, adulteres, et cetera, and since a high number of Christians have fornicated (And are in an attempt to become virgin again): The numbers of Christians would fall dramatically.
Jesus didn't die for our right to sin uncontrollably, but these groups that have these beliefs wouldn't be so angry at Christians if most of us would literally weigh everything as being bad, and respond accordingly. The 10 commandments would likely be a large list of things: As would the seven deadly sins.
I am pro choice.
I'm pro whatever sexual preference a person chooses to be.
I'm pro a person having sex whenever they please..
But I'm also single, male, straight Christian, and I truly think the concept of accepting everyone that isn't doing immoral things to others* is a truly Christian concept, and I advocate it for all people that I'm around.
God will make the judgment calls: Not me. My job is to allow him to guide me as I pray, read scripture, and learn true teachings that are both spirtually soothing and morally correct. I don't think saying "GOD HATES THE *******!" is very moral.
*The reason I'm pro choice is because many people will bear children, but not have the means to raise them well. So, rather than ending their lives in a state where they may not be alive: Some people kill their children as they are young, living people by putting them in dumpsters for example. The only solution I've heard to this is adoption, and that's not a good enough answer when millions of babies are born everyday, not everyone is open adoption, and not everyone that can adopt has the means of raising the child well either.

And that's the reason I pick only the verses that fit me and my family's life style because if i will follow all the people that say this is this, this is that - i will end up submitting to these people but not to Jesus Christ. I believe in God the Father, in Jesus Christ and in Jesus preaching and or teaching. I try to be the best person I could be, i made mistake sometimes and i prayed forgiveness for that mistake and apologize for people I offended, so i think I'm christian enough.

I am a Pentacostal Christian. And sadly, I agree with many of the answers. There are many Christians out there that just take bits and pieces from the bible that fit them, and than they are done. And that is definatly wrong! But there are out there many who are trying to change there ways. For example, I used to really HATE homosexuals. And not just homosexuality, but the actual person. Thank God I am a better person now-or atleast am getting better. I have come to learn that you should hate the sin, not the person. Yes, there are Christians out there that are all pro-whatever, but it is our job as fellow believers in Christ to assist them and nudge them in the right direction, and help them to see the errors in their ways before a bunch of athiest lash out at them.

Mr. Don'tWorryBeHappy on the previous page has it all wrong. He is quoteing parts of the old testament saying that christians wrote it and are following it. Christians didn't write the old testament, Jew did. Through Christ, the law (Old testament) is abolished, and in Him we can finally find salvation.

Hi there.
You are very much correct , these actions are condemned by God , and true Christian cannot , and would never act in such a way.
While even thinking about some of these things makes me almost be sick , it is not the worst sort of thing a person can do.
The things that God really hates is people following other Gods , or religions that promote false worship.
If a person follows ungodly teachings like the trinity , hell fire or the immortality of the soul , then it is not possible for them to have a relationship with God.
In this alientaed position people are actually standing on Satan's side, as it is his false religious lies that they are following.
So while abortions , murder , homosexuality are terrible things and against Gods will for man , it is the world of false religion and its adherents that God really despises.

It is your responsibility to follow the guide lines of the bible. But each person has to make the decision for themselves. You cannot force someone to do good. The government should not force people to do as the bible says. It never says that the bible should be used to rule the people. During the Inquisition people were killed if they did not follow the rules of the church. I would hate to see that repeated.

Things are always said and written, but many if not most never follow what is written. you talk of all the scriptures and what it speaks of, since you know this you should know this is the way it will be. also you shouldn't judge. I understand what you are saying, yet you should take the wood out of your eye before you even try to remove the speck in the others eye. yes indeed you should correct others but also, accept correction when others correct you. and I say that so you know im not trying to insult you. and so you dont forget that not only are you supposed to correct others but you are supposed to accept correction from others as well.

Jesus never isolated himself from those who sinned. Rather, he spent much of his life interacting with those who sinned (and many learned from his example). On the other hand, he often rebuked the "wise men" who tried to trap him with tricky scriptural questions. In my opinion, a true Christian is one who lead by behavior, as Jesus did. Out of curiousity (not judgement) when was the last time you invited known homosexuals, fornicators, etc. to YOUR church specifically as guests of yours. Would they be welcomed, sins and all? Would you be afraid of what your fellow parishioners would think of you? Remember, Jesus was misunderstood by many of his contemporaries. Are you willing to be misunderstood by those you worship next to you in church?
Most people who have had abortions, are homosexual, or commit other acts of fornication, have difficulty in our society or are in pain - a large part because they are misunderstood or not accepted by mainstream society. Please be willing to read the Bible to understand your own shortcomings, rather than as a tool to point out the shortcomings of others. Be the Bible rather than preach it. The world would be a much happier, blessed place if everyone tried this.

Miss Glenda, well put ! Sadly most don't want to hear the truth. Silence Is condoning the sin(s). Jesus was a peacemaker not a peacekeeper. They only want sermons that make them feel comfortable with their sinfull state. To justify their way of living. It's called "Buffet Christianity". Right On Girl....Love the person ,but hate the sin.

Glenda, this is a great question. I am a born again Christian and have struggled with fence sitting for many years on these issues. I have recently with some wisdom imparted to me by another reg on here actually, have decided to be prolife on the abortion issue. However, as far as gay marriage is concerned, I cannot see any legal way that my personal beliefs should infringe on two adults who are gay and want a life together. I do understand as a Christian the concern for the making it seem "normal" by allowing marriage outside the confines of what God gave us and what His full intention of marriage is. With that said though, we are not in a theocracy, but a democracy and with the freedoms that we love; this is one that I believe needs to stay free and gays should have the right to marry. I do not condone it by the mere fact I think it should be legal, I just realize in the country I live in, it is not my right to infringe my personal beliefs on this issue legally, if this makes sense to you. Gods Peace
