As little as possible. Bathing really dries out their delicate skin. Also, do NOT use human shampoo or puppy/kitten shampoo. Not even baby shampoo, as it's all to harsh on their skin. The puppy/kitten products could even contain anti-flea medication that can kill guinea pigs.
Get a shampoo that is made for small animals, like Four Paws Bunny Bath and try to bathe *at most* a 2-3 times a year in warm (not HOT) water. Make sure they are dry before putting them back in the cage as being cold and wet can make them susceptible to illness.
Try to maintain the coat more by brushing it daily and trimming it. Peruvians need daily brushing to avoid matts, and I'm sure it being part textel will make it all the more necessary to brush daily.

Brushing hair ummm.... each and every 3 days could be stable yet batheing ummm.....if on condition that that is grimy needs to have a bathtub or hav e a wash however the ultimate situations to bathe a guinea pig is while that is heat or warm (temperature) and while u see that some thing is incredible from its fur butthat answer could only be project-free brushing P.S make helpful the temperature is nice for a guinea pig bathtub! So it does no longer be to chilly for the piggy!

Peruvian and Texels are completely different.
Texels have curly hair that needs plenty of brushing and washing. Clipping will keep it under control as well. Brush everyday, bathe every week. If not, you get mats.
Peruvians have straight hair that doesn't tend to need as much (or any) care. They clean themselves like cats. A bath every 2 weeks if you really want to, but other than that, their fine.

my guinea pig is peruvian as well. I have had her since March, and I have never bathed her. She never smells bad. It's just when they start to smell you need to give them a bath, other than that, I don't bathe her.
Good luck.

Whenever he really smells and his fur is getting mangy with poo and his feet are caked with poo. Guinea pigs can get really gross. When you clean his cage, sometimes clean him. I'd put mine in a shallow hot bath and scrub his little feet and behind his ears. He loved it, he'd do the little shake and purr thing that they do. It was sweet. My guinea pig died. R I P ...I apologize for setting him free in the back yard. I am so guilty. Take care of your guinea!

Whenever he seems to need it. You can get shampoo for small animals, or use baby or kitten shampoo.
Our longhaired guy gets himself messy pretty often so we're going to start clipping the hair near his backside. He enjoys being bathed & brushed, but we don't want to bathe him too often once the weather gets cooler.
