Both are lacking open-mindedness and respect for each other's beliefs (or lack thereof).

You certainly ask the most interesting questions. Let's see...(I'm sure both sides will disagree with me, but it is my opinion after all) with Christians, I guess we can be more "preachy" and less tolerant of those 'who do not believe in anything but themselves'. I have found that "Christians" will eagerly gang up on those who reveal themselves as atheists and will(briefly) embrace any other type of religion with their own, just to "prove" that all religions are good and that not believing in something is bad. I only know a few agnostic people, but I still like them anyway. Oh no, am I going to hell now?! Anyway, I guess the hardest thing for me to deal with when you are talking to atheists is that they are very much like people who are extremely racist. No matter what or how you answer their questions, you are always wrong. You can never win,( if winning is the point here anyway), with these type of people. I think this is where you are going with the question. To be honest, atheist or not, I either like you or I don't . Your religious status doesn't usually provide me with your friendship, so for me...this isn't a BIG deal like others will make it. Guard Dog

As a Christian, I'd have to say atheists lack faith.

You know, that's pretty basic.

Atheist here:

I would have to say the ability to reason with rational thought.

Not understanding that blind faith is just that - blind.

Knowing what a scientific theory is.

knowing what a hypothesis is.

That Intelligent Design does not qualify as a scientific theory.

Trying to teach intelligent design in public schools is a church function and forbidden by the 1st Amendment.

That the United States is not a christian nation, it is a nation that has a lot of christians.

The the Addition of Under God in 1954 was unconstitutional because it was an endorsement of a single faith by Congress and the President and therefore against the law.

That I have the right to live my life without having their faith legislated and forced upon me and my family.

Christians are lacking to look at the truth of their pagan religion. They truly believe they have a sole proprietorship on absolute truth.

Atheists mostly lack respect for others.

Both are very similar in their thinking that they are both "always right"

I think the religious (not just Christians) lack a respect for logic and rational thought. They feel that faith is a virtue. All faith is, is belief without reason. It is simply irrational thought. Our ability to use logic and reason is solely responsible for our progress as humankind. But when it comes to religion, it is discarded.

Its kinda like having pizza without any toppings (with the exception of cheese, since that is like the blood of life)... or rather than ordering pizza, you just order the pepperoni. You can't have one without the other.

Besides, without Christians, who would get to the thrown to the lions? And without Atheists, who would the Christians have to save?

Atheists simply do not believe in God. They don't believe that Jesus Christ came to die for their sins. That's all. It's their right.
I'm a Christian. I believe the opposite. That's my right.
