I have 2 male brother cats....they are a rescue in my eyes. The girl that had them from the time they were born (now they are 4 years old) decided one day she no longer liked or wanted them. So she gave them to a woman who actually hates cats and she just threw them outside...they are nuetered and declawed and never outside before and never seperated. Well the one got lost for a few days then they found him and I went and got them since she was going to leave them out. I have had them for a few months now and they are both extemely sweet. But now the one that was lost (not that any of that really goes with my question)...he stares at me ALL THE TIME. Like he will just keep staring and look into my eyes and meow alot when he does. Not hungry..as far as I know doesnt need anything. He rubs against me when he does this. I have had and been around bunches of cats and never seen a cat stare like this one does. I catch him looking at me alot, then when I see him, he meows again. Any ideas Y?

Its soooo cute and sweet when he does this, but Im curious. Could he be trying to tell me something or what? Seriously...its kinda weird how much he does this. He loves me bunches...sleeps with me every night under the covers. He is just a different kind of cat then I have ever had before. Is this just normal? I dont know what else to do. I try to give him things I think he may want...and thats never it. He just follows me and keeps doing it. Not like freaking out meowing or anything. Just a sweet little meow...but the staring is whats funny. Just wondering...thanks for any answers in advance.

Your new found kittie is trying to comunicate with you. It's funny how we say animals are so unintelligent unlike us...Yet they can almost comunicate with every other animal..Just like when a dog knows to back off when a cat has had enough...

Anyways, I rescued a cat from my G-ma's house when someone dropped her off on the road..Phew we didnt know how much of a damsel in distress she really was...She was pregant....

But, I think that he is trying to tell you how much he really appreciates the attention and love that you are giving him. He obviously didnt get too much if any at all before. He likes to be by your side because now you are his companion and vice versa...

It's nothing to worry about, and yes it might seem strange..but Im pretty sure its him trying to tell you how much he cares and appreciates what you have done for him.

no longer in basic terms is ask your self Cat between the bestest acquaintances of The Cat (pictured on the avatar), they're comparable. you notice, ask your self Cat is actual a lady pretending to be a male tom cat pretending to be a lady who's crying is brought about by utilising outdoors impacts and propose human beings on Yahoo!. The Cat is a lady human slave pretending to BE The Cat (who does no longer) who's technically male, yet neutered and is seen an it. Or a He'it, to no longer be at a loss for words along with his kitty sister, who's spayed and recognized a She'it. And to proceed, mutually as the human slave is pretending to be a Cat, The Cat is actual pretending to care. The Cat AND his human the two love ask your self Cat no matter what intercourse and that is been purported that The Cat and ask your self Cat could have had some "association" with one yet another, inspite of the reality that ask your self Cat looks extra like the Cats brother kitty, Louie the enormous. The Cat beleives they may be suitable. we are nonetheless attempting to ascertain the crying difficulty even nonetheless. that is totally no longer project-free to sign to ask your self, being a deaf mute and all, over the internet. That some thing all of us be responsive to for helpful. **cries for ambiguity***

He really wants human attention and he's bored. If you have time try training him. Yes, like sit, lay down, shake, and roll over. Find a treat he really likes and figure out how to hold the treat so he automaticly does what you want. (eg. - he'll probably sit if you put the treat in the air slightly behind his head) Say the comand every time he does what you want him to do. Do this maybe 15 minutes a day. You'll have an easier to manage cat and he won't feel the need to get your attention so much.

Just try it. Both of my cats were the cat way. They rarely bother me now and are very well trained.

He is probably just starved for affection. As long as he is doing okay otherwise it's probably nothing to worry about. Cats have personalities just like us. Some more distinct than others. I have one cat that is like this too. He is demanding, all of the time and gets in my face and looks in my eyes and meows. He is kind of needy and is always curled up with one of the human family members.

y'know, all cats have some weird thing that they do, like your sweetie staring, or the 2a.m.crazies (that most cats seem to have), or the cat that will only drink from a particular fawcet, etc. cats have license to be eccentric and weird, they simply wouldn't be cats without some of those qualities that give them their mystique.
i think that is part of their charm...
come to think of it there is a tom that comes around here that does the same thing...he is very people friendly, and when i was sitting out tonight he jumped right into my lap and looked at me and meowed, and i petted him for a while, but had to go back in...my 'pringers has mixed feelings about him...she mostly flattens her ears at him and hisses and fluffs up...but sometimes she just sits and watches him and rolls around and pats at the window at him...and other times she slaps at the window and wants to go out and rip his head off. strange relationship...the tom isn't our cat and i don't know who the owner is, but he is fed o.k. and groomed, looks pretty healthy, he's just out alot...something i take issue with....apparently 'pringers does too.

It's completely normal. I've had cats all my life and never had one that did that until now. He is a male and will stare intently. It's kind of wierd and makes you feel a little odd, but completely normal.
When mine stares and meows I call him and give him some petting.

i know that look very well it means they want to go outside.they are natural born hunters and since they have been indoor outdoor cats they are trying to tell you something.let me out.i have a girl that does this.just be careful some are meant to be indoor outdoor i dont care what people tell you.when my girl looks at me that way and i dont let her out i get little piles of pooh by the window where i do let her out.hence the reason her old owner gave her to me thought she was territorial turned out to be otherwise.

just an update since they are declawed as long as its just their front feet should be ok to let them outdoors cats mostly fight with their back feet but im tellling you this is the reason

I have a cat that does this. I adopted her from a shelter. She is a very loving cat, and all she does is just lay around and watch me from where ever she is in the house. She also loves to swat me on the butt when it is close to midnight and I am still at the computer typing. (stop it! I'm NOT ready for bed!) Bottom line (I better hurry before I get a claw in MY bottom) your cat loves you and is just trying to communicate how grateful he is that you are his human now. You are blessed. -.-

Much as he loves you, this staring is his way of asserting dominance, just as jungle cats do. To let him know that you're the 'boss', stare back, right into his eyes. Keep doing this until he averts his eyes, then stroke or brush him or give him a little treat. From what you've written, he seems to be a lovely pet. Enjoy your fur-guys! As their rescuer, you deserve their love. How lucky they are.

He's just talking to you. I had a cat that did the same thing. He's probably wondering why you get so creeped out that he tries to have a conversation with you, LOL. Just talk back and give him some scratches, it sounds like he really loves you.
