I believe in God...but I don't think he created man. I believe evolution.

Is there a religion that supports my beliefs? Just wondering...

My group was talking in science and 2 people said you can't do that, you either believe in everything about God or you don't. (Another girl also had the same beliefs as me)

Jennifer;; what I believe, and what you call a theory, has more proof then that book you believe in.
You're brainwashed, I pity you.

Deism, maybe? Or theism. You should do some research to find out more about them.

Well if you accept evolution then any god that claimed to have created the world is lying and not a good candidate.

If you truly "believe" evolution then you should listen and learn a bit more about science, as facts are not a belief, nor does belief make things a fact.

Edit:
Sigh, www.dissentfromdarwin.org is yet another in a long line of pseudo-science sites, I'd read it only if you enjoy twisting facts into half truths. As a "real eye opener", the only thing that comes to mind is are people so uneducated that they would even half way believe this stuff? Or you could say that www.dissentfromdarwin.org is a good "eye opener" to Creationist lies (I assume that misquotes and twisting the truth is stll considered a lie).

Your relationship with God is between you and your God and no one can tell you that your wrong about what you believe. Many Religions have existed and maintained power for centuries by scaring people into believing what they want you to believe. This is a form of mind control and this is what separate Religion from spirituality. Religion is like a business and it is very competitive, spirituality is the relationship you have with God whatever that means to you. The Religious fanatics are always the last ones to change their ways of thinking and that's what make them so dangerous. Many scientists have died and been imprisoned for going against the church even though they latter were proven to be right. If the church still had it's way people would still think the universe revolves around the Earth.

I am the same exact way.. I plan on posting a question about my religion as well..I just want to make sure I include everything so I can get the best answers possible. I believe in God but I also believe in evolution. After all, who created the science to even allow evolution to occur?

I would also like to add that people have to remember that not everyone believes in the Bible..so you cannot argue that the Bible says Adam and Eve bla bla bla..

God created everything from nothing

The universe came into existence billions of years ago with a tremendous explosion called "The big bang." This is clearly mentioned in the Quran in the following verses:

Have not "those who disbelieve" known that heavens and earth were of one piece, We parted them and, We made every living thing of water will they not then believe? Qur'an Chapter 21 Verse 30

The discovery of "The Big Bang" and that of "The aquatic origin of life" was made by the non-Muslims, ("those who disbelieve"). When the universe began all matter and space (heavens) was at one point (one piece). Then everything was separated in what the physicists describe as "The big bang." The evidence that the universe began in the "The big bang" is so overwhelming that it is now considered a fact and not just a theory.

Evolution is just a theory.....

You obviously don't believe what the Bible has to say. You can not be lukewarm.

In Revelation 3:16 Jesus says, "So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth."

You either believe what God's Word says, or you don't, and it's obvious you don't. There is only one way. Jesus says, "I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except by Me." Period!

You take the Bible or you leave it.

But, I'm sure there is a "religion" out there somewhere that supports your theory, but that's all it is, a theory.

So, if your going to be cold than be cold, if you are going to be hot then be hot.

Anyone can believe in God, but what god do you believe in? Not my God!

Lots of people feel this way. They believe in a higher power that set a chain of events in motion, and let nature take it's course.

Good for you, by the way. It's great to see that you are thinking 'outside the box' instead of believing everything that is thrown your way.

As for a religion that supports your beliefs, there are many. Buy...why pigeon-hole your beliefs? Try going to a non-denominational church that supports spirituality without endorsing specific beliefs.

You can believe in God and evolution. Evolution was just the way God created. If you think of God as living outside of time than the evolution of life would just appear as a mural to God .

Wait ... a ... minute - please ! Before you get committed to a false belief system, check-out the Center for Science and Culture (CSC) : www.dissentfromdarwin.org Here, you will see Scientific views on Evolution and the CURRENT acceptance of this theory by Science. WARNING ... A real eye-opener !!!

Nobody can tell you what your beliefs are except for you.

Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.

If you question your faith in God then you have to choose for yourself. It might help to talk to your Church Pastor or someone from one of the Church Groups (if you go to Church). If not, then you decide for yourself as sometimes intellectual decisions can be made if you find out what it is that your trying to decide.

Do some research and perhaps you'll be able to decide for yourself what works for you. Some people who do not believe in God at all call Him "their Higher Power" whichever the case may be.................remember that you still young and perhaps one day you may change your beliefs when you've had more time to grow and mature.

...........think about it...............good luck

Anyone can believe whatever they want; it doesn't necessarily make it right, though.

I can't think of the name of a religion that fits those beliefs off the top of my head, though. They're just general theistic (meaning that you believe in God) beliefs.
