I don't have a problem with the book itself... I DO have a problem with the people who cherry-pick through the bible for verses to support their arguments but when the same is done back, they fall on "mosaic law" excuses. Inconsistencies of the human mind in interpreting (we're not supposed to interpret? but it can't be historically accurate? PICK ONE!).

Isn't that just stupid human nature?
What riles me is, all the bible quoting and cutting and pasting is about showing off; not educating. Because I don't believe the bible is the word of god because I believe nobody on planet Earth has EVER seen or spoken to god, so it irks me when some people start spewing out "Holy" talk and quoting verses, because I'd rather know their independent opinion rather than crap they've memorized, verbatim.
But they possess no independent thought, most of the time.

I don't really care about what the bible says, because it's just a book. What upsets me is when people base their beliefs upon an old book, and then have the gall to try and legislate their beliefs into *my* life because of what they say their book says.

The bible is a collection of myths mixed with some history but some people seem to try to base their life on it which is why they fail.

What Christians say it says.
They have to cherry pick and make some of the stories into parables to make any sense of it. After that point, it's better to just disregard the whole book.

What the Bible says. It is ludicrous and so full of lies. What Christians say it says is a whole different matter. I'm an atheist because of the Bible being false. Christians spouting what they don't know about the Bible is just a pain in the......

I hate how they ignore the parts that are barbaric and hateful, and when we point them out, claim that we misinterpreted the passages.
