If you want to get 500 pics onto 700mb, you need a filesize of no more than about 1.1 mb each.

A "normal quality" 4megapixel digi photo comes in at approx 2mb, so depending on your camera, you are looking at LOSIONG a lot of detail or quality to do this.

Alternatively WinZip / WinRAR can compress files, but they need decompressed from CD to be read.

It would be better to simply use 2 or more CDs

Use winrar.exe to zip those files and write to Cd. Anyhow it is based on the size of your photos only

Upload them to yahoo photos, flickr or shutterfly for free and download again when ever u need it.
as thy are providingthis service free.

OR

Use compression tools/programs like win rar or winzip etc
