ive been cheated on over a year ago.

he was drunk at the beach, the girl went down on him, and it stopped when he realized what was going on.

anyway i gave him a second chance. it took me a while to get over and for him to rebuild his trust but our relationship has been solid despite that one moment.

i know the saying "once a cheater, always a cheater" but is this always the case? i honestly dont think my boyfriend will ever cheat on me again. am i being naive? has anyone else ever experienced something like this?

i just want hope that all boys arent the same and sometimes people make mistakes.

Certainly everyone makes mistakes. And when booze is invovled it makes making them all the easier. If inside your heart you truly feel that he will remain faithful to you then that should be enough. But if you are questioning whether or not he will be mistrusting atgain then listen to your guts. But fact of life is that it is not always the case once a cheater always a cheater. There are many people who comnitted infidelity and learned a valuable lesson from it then turned out to be the most loving and caring partners possible.

Every situation is different...once a cheater always a cheater does not apply to everyone. However, you can't continue to second guess your decision because that means that in the back of your mind, you really don't trust him.

I am sure that not every person that has cheated, did it twice. But like Dr. Phil says, :) for every one rat you see, there are 50 you don't, so just be cautious and be prepared for the worst. He may have been drunk, but a loyal spouse doesn't put themselves in situations that can lead to cheating.

Lets examine his story, a girl went down on him. He was so wasted that he could refuse her advances. Ok, stop. This just doesn't happen.

Ok, you forgave him, and he has been good as far as you know. Yes, someone could have made a mistake, and he could have learned his lesson, but it is your responsibility to not let it happen twice. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Good luck and God bless.

Once a liar, always a liar. The same goes with a cheater. It's up to you if you really want to put up with this. I wouldn't.

yes you are right by thinking that not all boys are the same!!! and in my opinion he did not cheatd on you, like you said when he knew what was going on he stopped right? well so i don't consider that as "cheating" but no all of us are like that!!!!! and i don't think he would do that again tho he was drunk and when you are drunk you don't know whats going on!!!... well take care and remember that all of us are the same.

All boys aren't' the same....there are a lot of good ones out there.

Give him the benefit of the doubt.....but don't be stupid....be aware of what's going on.

if he told u that means he was honest i mean if he kept it from u then he doesn't deserve a chance. Since he was drunk but stopped it then he deserves a chance since he wasn't in his rite state
