I'm writing a paper on anatomy of the abdomen. I want to insert a nice line drawing of the topical anatomy of the regions of the abdomen. I do not want to paste/stick it on and then photocopy it together. I want it to be printed properly, and to be inserted in between paragraphs, not on a separate sheet of paper. Also, if you know any good, free internet sites with such diagrams, I will be very happy. I HAVE searched, and nothing satisfactory so far. Drawing on will be messy (and I can't draw).

Thank you!

Easiest way is to scan it in, unless you can find an internet site. I see you say you havent been able to find any, try http://www.humanbody.dke-guides.com/ or

First, there are websites that offer good diagrams, but trust me for the price of one those drawings you could buy a good, inexpensive scanner. (Hint! Hint!)

Get a hold of a scanner (costs about $50; <$150 will get you a good HP scanner with autofeeder, fax, copier and, voila! printer all in one machine!).

Once you get your scanner, scan the images from your text book and borrowed book from the library -- or wherever from, and just insert them into MS Word. You can right click on the image and select some pretty basic but good "text flow" options (such as around the image, no text on either side of the image, etc etc)

Good Luck!

You can try www.webmd.com and see if an image of the abdomen displays. Right-click it and see if you can either copy it or save the image.

Then, open your Word document and click Insert, Picture, from file --
now, indicate the location of the picture, then click Insert. Your text will probably jump out of line.

Right-click the picture and click Format Picture or Object. Click Layout. Select "in front of text" or try a few layouts until you find one that works for you.

Check this out.

Yes it is there in Word. Go to Insert, Symbols, then click the "Special Characters tab. It is listed as Trademark, along with Registered, Copyright etc. The shortcut is Alt+Ctrl+T
