How old is your cat? Vomiting and diarrhea have a bazillion causes but here are a few:
parasites -- intestinal worms, heartworms, protozoal organisms
viruses -- feline leukemia, feline immunodeficiency virus
bad food
other diseases such as cancer
hyperthyroidism
kidney disease

A week of vomiting and diarrhea is long enough for your cat to lose a lot of weight and be severely dehydrated. I'd take him to the vet tomorrow. Good luck

First of all, ignore alarmists who are diagnosing fatal illnesses! Good gawd. The most likely cause is worms or parasites.. Even indoor cats get them, because all it takes is one flea to come in via your person or shoes. Or he may have already had them. Simple solution (I assume the vet requested a fecal sample). Honestly, I never worry about this if there are no other symptoms. You mentioned vomiting, which I assume is under control now, correct? I've had many cats and sometimes they do have spontaneous diarhhea for no apparent reason. With mine, it usually was from something weird they ate, even people food. Or plants - do you have new plants? I really wouldn't worry about this. Yes, she needs a vet, but I doubt it'll be more than a vet visit + meds to calm her tummy down.

"Diarrhea & Vomiting:
If your cat is not showing other signs of illness, you can save yourself a trip to the vet if you wait 12 hours and do the following:

1. Take away all food and water so that the irritated intestinal tract can settle down. Nothing makes a vomiting cat vomit more than eating a large meal or drinking a large amount of water. You may allow the cat to drink very small amounts, and in this short time, if your cat is otherwise healthy, you don't have to worry about dehydration. If the diarrhea resolves, after 24 hours, you may give your cat very small amounts of a bland food, such as drained, cooked hamburger or chicken mixed with an equal amount of cooked rice.

2. Observe your cat closely. Is behavior and activity otherwise normal? Think about and try to identify the cause of the problem. Could your cat have eaten something (like grass or a plant, garbage, or a dead animal) that upset her digestive system? Has your cat been wormed lately? Watch how your cat vomits or eliminates so you can describe it to your veterinarian if symptoms persist. Examine the stool or vomit. Collect samples if you believe you will need to take your cat in."

"When you SHOULD call your veterinarian:

Vomiting:
-blood in vomit
-vomiting accompanied by diarrhea
-vomit looks and smells like stool
-vomiting is projectile
-vomiting is sporadic and there is no relationship to meals
-multiple bouts of vomiting occur over a short period of time
-ingestion of a poison (like antifreeze or fertilizer) is suspected
-vomiting persists more than a day or two
-stomach bloating occurs or your cat tries to vomit but can not
-cat also appears listless
-there is weight loss
-cat is showing other signs of illness such as labored breathing or pain

Diarrhea:
-bloody diarrhea
-diarrhea accompanied by vomiting
-multiple bouts of vomiting occur over a short period of time
-ingestion of a poison is suspected
-fever and other signs of toxicity are present
-diarrhea persists more than a day or two
-cat also appears listless
-there is weight loss
-cat is showing other signs of illness such as labored breathing or pain"

You're going to have to take him to the vet to find out what is going on. Please do it first thing in the morning - a week of vomiting and diarrhea is serious, and the cat is probably very dehydrated by now.

Don't let him suffer any longer. Can you imagine what it's like to vomit and have diarrhea for a whole week? Just the dehydration alone can kill him. Take him to the vet.

e.e;;

My kitty just started puking and having diarhea so bad today that everytime I cleaned it she would poop herself again..

We took her to the vet today and she said it might be because of her food..

They gave her an antibiotic shot, gave her some fluids, medicine to go home with and stuff to give her if she gets diarhea again...

So far she is doing ok but she isnt very active at all...

I really hope its just your kitties food too ;/

First please take your pet to the vet! I had four pets with a sickness not too long ago and two of them had to be put to sleep because we just waited three or four days. yup same symptoms. Be careful you can also get fined or worse for not taking them at all.
