my daughters dad died 16 years ago and i wanted to let her claim the social security. her dad wasnt able to sign her birth certificate due to long distance. her dad had another son older than her who has his birth cerficate signed by the dad. would social security accept siblingship to prove paternity?

Im pretty sure no. See if you can get another older family member like an aunt or an uncle of your daughter's possibly from her father's side to sign an affidavit proving that they have knowledge he is the father...but i think a lawyer would help you answer this question.

Go ahead. If there is any problem you can prove paternity by exhuming his corpse and taking DNA or even by using DNA from the 1/2 brother.

maybe u can get her older sibling and her to get a paternity test to see if they match?? im not sure how it works but find out...

call them she maybe to old to claim she can prob only claim until she is 18 or finishes h.s
