Justification and Sanctification.

Christ is the Bread of Life and the Living Water.

As a whole, they represent His Atonement.

His blood and the water that poured from His wound represent His divine Mercy, we are cleansed by the water and forgiven by the blood He shed for us on Calvary.
These are the final days where the Mercy of Christ will be poured out for man, when the great and terrible days come some of you will remember these words.

I read a doctor's analysis of the crucifixion. He said that the blood and water indicated that the heart of Jesus had literally burst. There is some symbolism there!
