Wow, you have gotten some bad advice on here.
Never hit your dog. Never 'flick' or 'thump' or 'swat' your dog for any reason, ever. Trying to hit a dog in the face for biting you - especially for a terrier - will make the biting much worse.
When you feel teeth on skin, get up and walk away. The game, according to your dog, must end instantly when he lands a tooth on you. You could "YELP!" but it may just stimulate your dog more.
Have patience and remember that bite inhibition can be taught very well through kind methods. Here are some links to help:

Perhaps next time you play wiv your dog, smear some peanut butter or jelly or something your dog likes to eat put it over the back of your hand and play with your dog.
Say "play nicely" and when the dog licks your hand (to eat the jelly) keep saying "good dog" and if he bites say "no" in a stern voice.
The licking should show him to play nice and not bite. If you do it over and over dogs learn by repition so do it 5-10 times then take a break!
Worked for me! Goodluck and have fun!

Is he a pup?
Say, "NO!" when the dog stops, give him a treat and praise him.
If he's persistent, grab him by the snout. But always try to use positive reinforcements when the dog is doing what you want him to do.
Also, try distracting him by playing a game.
ETA: He never learned that biting wasn't acceptable. Another thing...when he starts biting, get up and leave. Do NOT play with him. He apparently thinks it's ok.
Also, consider training classes, if you haven't already...terriers are stubborn and can often challenge a new handler.

Here's what I did with my 6 month old shepherd to stop him from mouthing/biting me. It might sound horrible, but it doesn't hurt the dog at all and it worked on my dog. When your dog begins to mouth/bite you, don't pull away from him, but continue to push your hand into his mouth. This shows dominance on your part, and the dog does not like this. You may have to do it several times before he gets it, but he will stop. Mine stopped after I did this to him about 5 times. I thought it sounded horrible when I first read about it, but I tried it and like I said, it did work. I found this suggestion on a dog training site on the internet.

You didn't give his age. If he is a pup, then you can train him in Bite Inhibition.
Bite Inhibition
Puppies are very energetic and playful. You want to teach them to be obedient as young as possible. In this case, teach him bite inhibition:
1. When he nips you, then yelp ! This will startle him and he will back off. Pet him for stopping.
2. If he nips you a second time, then yelp again, and pet him if he backs off.
3. If he bites you a third time, then yelp, and turn your back for 15 seconds. Then turn and pet him. If he comes around before you turn and he licks you or barks, then he is apologizing. Accept this and pet him.
4. If he nips a fourth time (they can be hard headed), then yelp, and turn around for 2 minutes. Again accept the apology, if offered. If not, then turn around and pet him.
5. Finally, after the fifth nip, yelp, then get up and leave him alone. Don't move him or put him in the crate. Instead, you move to somewhere that he can't follow. After 5 - 10 minutes, you can return to him, or just leave him alone.
6. The next time you pet him, repeat the sequence, he should respond a little faster, and learn not to nip you after a week.
7. You can fine tune the process so that he mouths you or only touches you with his lips. I taught my dog to mouth me... I didn't have the patience to go further.
The reason for doing this is to train the puppy how fragile human skin is. When puppies are in the litter, they bite each other to play. If one puppy bites too hard the sibling will yelp. If the biter doesn't back off, then the injured puppy will not play, and all the puppies will treat hard biting in this way.
Most puppies want attention and will learn anything so that they don't lose your attention. If you learn this method, you will have a powerful training tool.

even thought people say never use any kind of negative training methods...i found otherwise with this. i had a 4 month old JRT, and she is the same way. loves to play...and sometimes bites in a playful way... I stop what we're doing and look at her and say NO with a very stern voice. if she does it again soon after i hit/tap her nose and say no. it works pretty well...she's doing it less and less.

My dog used to play bite when we 1st got him.
Simply flick him gently on the end of his nose with your finger & give him a loud No!
A loosely rolled newspaper on the rump with a loud No! may work as well.
Do Not reward the dogs biting by playing after the correction let the dog think about the dicipline 3-6 minutes after.
