I have fixed 1 thing on it since it was brand new it was called a choke sensor. Other than maintenance, it has worked out well for me. I keep the oil changed every 2-3K miles. I went to a jiffy lube and they replaced some kind of fluid, but I am not sure what it was. It cost about $90 to change it. I have changed the tires 2 times. I clean it up every week or 2 and so for its doing pretty good.
I am a little worried it will start having problems and I dont want to end up without a vehicle since I drive 25 mi to work and 25 mi home every day. Its a 2003. Should I trade it in? Should I keep it as a 2nd vehicle and buy a new one. What do you thing would be my best decision?

Oh yeah, I forgot to say the check engine lite comes on a lot and if I screw the gas cap on tight, it goes off.

If it runs good and is in good shape like you say I would keep it. Its probably paid for or close to it. Nothing better than not having a $300 car payment every month.

I have an answer regarding the check engine light and the gas cap. If the gas cap is not on all the way, it will cause the engine light to come on and also the vehicle will hesitate when attempting to pick up speed. Lack of pressure causes this. Just make sure the gas cap is firmly tightened (I usually spin it until it clicks several times) and you shouldnt have this problem.

I do not know if your vehicle is a 4 cyclinder or not. If it is, then I would suggest trading it in as smaller engines do not hold up over time. However, if you really like the vehicle there is really no reason to trade it as it sounds like mostly highway mileage which is good. Do you have the money to trade it? Actually right now is a good time to buy a 2007 since GM is trying to get rid of surplus and Ford and Chrysler are both trying to get some sales. It is up to you.

If it hasnt given you any problems why would think it would? The gas cap is common in alot of cars. My check engine light came on because I put a locking gas cap on it. If your afraid of something major coming up I would trade it in. Dont fix it cheaply like someone else said. That will really screw up the person who buys it. Just trade it in now before something does happen.

If you have an opportunity to get a new one, I say go for it. I am on my 3rd Jeep. Chrysler now has lifetime warranty on engine and powertrain for as long as you own your car.
