Jesus was a Jew who never heard of Christianity. He was a great public speaker who could draw a crowd. He had a lot more than twelve followers, perhaps thousands. The Romans were the bosses and they didn't want any Jewish leaders, so they decided to bump him off. The story that has come down to us is that Judas Iscariot was bribed to lead the Roman soldiers to him, but it seems more likely he was threatened. It was probably a very ordinary murder. A group of soldiers killed some guy, but the storytellers have given us something more dramatic, with a crowd of Jews yelling "Crucify him!" and the Romans reluctantly complying. The Gospel writers have put four different sets of famous last words in Jesus' mouth, but he died of asphyxiation. He was unable to exhale. The Romans would never have permitted anyone to take the body down from the cross. Their practice was to leave crucified bodies up for the birds to eat. The purpose was to terrorize the populace.
In those days, a lot of pagans had taken on a lot of Jewish ways. They even went to the synagogue, but they could not convert to Judaism because they refused to get circumcised. Saint Paul, who had never met Jesus, started preaching to those people. He told them they could keep their own customs. They became the first Christians.
At the time, people used to worship people, living or dead. Augustus Caesar, first emperor of Rome, started calling himself the Son of God, to which the early Christians replied "Jesus is the Son of God!"
Unlike the original twelve apostles, Paul was quite literate. His letters were written by his own hand. The Gospels were written 35 to 65 years after the crucifixion. The authors were likely relating things that had happened before they were born.
In A.D. 70, the Roman army destroyed the temple in Jerusalem and scattered the Jewish population. Many, perhaps most died in the hardship that followed.

If you believe in Jesus, then you must have read about him somewhere. The Holy Bible is a good source of information on the subject. Genesis 1:1 says that the beginning of our earth was a creation of God. After animal kingdom was created, God said to someone; Let 'us' make man in 'our' image. Most bibles give a good detail of the individuality of the two in Matthew through John. in the New Testament. Open your mind and visualize the scene at Jesus baptism by John. Read it. What happened there ? John and others heard what God said to Jesus. Another time, Jesus asked God if he would excuse him of the horrible death he was about to face. If he was God, why would he petition anyone for permission ? The word 'god' in lowercase letters is applied to many in the Bible. It was even applied to individuals of non-christian nations. It is all there. 66 books written by men like you and I. Read it all. Make notes of those who were called 'gods'. Oh, by the way, first look up the word 'god' in the dictionary. Then you will have a more enlightened understanding of the term.

Because Jesus is two natured. He is Jesus the man, and Jesus the God. As the Philippians letter says he 'emptied himself' , and took on the form of a servant. In another passage it says:
6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
So what Jesus had to do was what no man could. So the Most High God became a man and lived the Law perfectly, and anyone who believes in Him is saved:
27 Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be handed over to the saints, the people of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will worship and obey him.'
(Daniel 7)
Are you ready?

Jesus claimed to be God manifested in the flesh. When Philip asked Him to show him God, he replied: " have I been with you a long time and you do not know me. " He that hath seen me hath seen the Father..." (John14 :9).
Even in the book of Colossians, we find the identity of Jesus disputed. But Paul writes that "in Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead" (Colossians 2:9). Paul had to correct the peoople at Colosse.
I think what you want is the word "glory." In verse 11, every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God. No one can know that Jesus is God until the Spirit reveals it to him.
Pray and seek a revelation of this. Jesus definately is God.

Jesus was both, human and devine at the same time. (see: John chapter 17, verse 5) Jesus alluded to the fact that He was God (see: Jon chapter 14, verse 9). A future prophecy given for us, concerning the rule of Jesus Christ over the earth at His return, lists one of His titles as being "The Ever-lasting FATHER"
( Isaiah chapter 9, verse 6)
Jesus worshipped "God" because He was also, human besides, devine !!!

At the time he was on earth he was both man and God and as a man he prayed to God and told us to worship God, to love God and to follow him. He healed the sick, raised the dead and did what only God can do... forgave sins! Jesus also predicted his death and Resurrection and repeatedly said that no one can go to the father but by the son. Jesus is the only path to salvation.
Here are the words of Jesus as recorded in the book of John in Chapter 3. The book of John is one of the 4 Gospels and we have copies that date from within 50 to 60 years of the original writing. The number of manuscripts available make the accuracy and reliability very very high!
16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.
Even the Qu'ran written over 600 years after Jesus's birth records that he was born of a virgin and could raise the dead, it is the death and Resurrection and who he was that are denied... but people denied who he was even when he was alive. The Bible clearly reports that Jesus's own brothers did not believe until after the resurrection and his ascending to heaven! The book of James is written by Jesus's brother.
God Bless
Todd

I assume that I am waisting my time by answering this in the first place. I am sure you do not want an answer but rather seek to belittle somthing I hold dear. However I feel the need to shed light on the darkness or confusion spread by countless doctrines and numberless christians around the world.
Christ is called both the Father and the Son. What you have pointed out is the critical falting of the Trinity. How ever he did pray to God only he called him the Father or my Father. He prayed that his disiples would be one even as he and the Father were one. Unless he intended them to morph in to one body, which I think it is safe to assume that he did not, he probably meant to be united and one in purpose and indeed we can see that the devisions among the Apostles and as well among the congregations they established did infact result in a fracturing or falling away.
The "thrinity" is in fact three seperate and distinct beings. To think otherwise flys in the face of logic and reasoning.
Call me what you want but I know this to be true.

because God is a triune being - 3 in 1 and Jesus the Son was recognizing and giving honor to His Father through the power of the third member of the triune God - the Holy Spirit. Just as we are made in His image, a triune being, body - the reflection of Jesus, soul - the reflection of the Father God and spirit - the reflection of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus is God ... Spirit wrapped in flesh.
Jesus, being in physical form like us, gave us the example throughout the NT of how we are suppose to worship, pray, act, love, live, forgive.
