My mother died over 20 years ago of breast cancer after having treatments and remissions for 17 years.
I was 28 at the time, I was 11 when she was first diagnosed.
I lost my father 3 years later, following a heart attack.
I still love and miss them, perhaps never more than when I got my own diagnosis of breast cancer 3 years ago.
I still feel them with me, looking out for me and caring for me, but that is part of my personal belief/faith. We each need to find our own way to cope with the death of someone close.
Hugs, she still loves and cares for you!

well, no. I have a mother figure that just passed away with cancer. It's really hard. It would be even harder if it was my real mom because she is my best friend. I just had my first child, a daughter. She was in the hospital doing well. the day I was discharged she was not doing well so we told her we would bring the baby up that Friday to see her. she was very excited. We were getting oour daughter ready to go when we got the call. I cried and cried for hours because she didn't get to see my little girl. On the good side of things she can see her now as your mom can see you and yours. She knows you are expecting and she will be able to see the new baby and watch over all of you. It is very painful to deal with the loss of someone that close to you. It will be okay and I know it's hard to think so because of your hormones but she is in a better place and she is happy. My real mother is having surgery tommorrow on her neck. I know she will be fine but I can't always help but wonder. Just enjoy this pregnancy because your mom will see you grow every step of the way. Congratulations on the baby and I am so sorry about your mother. My condolences to you and your family.

My mom is still alive, but she's had breast cancer 3 times and lost a breast and all her lymph nodes to breast cancer in the '70's.
I am so sorry for your loss, but I will also tell you that I don't believe AT ALL that death is the end. She is still your mama and she is still loving you, and still trying to communicate with you and is watching over you from the other side. Pay attention to your dreams, and just reach out to her and talk to her. I believe she can hear you!

I have lost my mom to lung cancer and I still dream about her and think about her every day. It's been almost 20 years now. My dreams about my mom is just about her and me and when I was a little kid, but the weird thing is, my mom is healthy in my dreams and I am happy that I am with her. My mom was my best friend and she is always with me and I know, that she is my guardian angel.
I am so sorry for your loss. I am a breast cancer survivor and think of this disease every day.

First, please let me say, I am so sorry for your loss. I am one of the lucky ones that hasn't lost someone close, to breast cancer, but I will say everytime I have a choice between a plain label and one with a pink ribbon, I buy the pink ribbon. I try to buy everything pink. If we all keep contributing and fighting for awareness, a cure will be found. I always encourage everyone I know to help join the fight against breast cancer. Your mother was one of the bravest of all, and her memory will not ever be lost, and her fight was honorable.
