back in the town I used to live in, every house got served twice a week. The trashmen [almost all were men, too] worked Monday and Thursday in my neighborhood plus Tuesday and Friday in the one across the highway.
Wednesday was their maintenance day. on that day they either ran bulk trash pickup in some neighborhood, cleaned and painted the trucks, or made up for a holiday.
Holidays -- for Monday holidays, Monday pickup was on Tuesday and Tuesday on Wednesday, but the rest were normal. For Thanksgiving, the trashmen got Wednesday and Thursday off but worked Friday and Saturday [plus Monday and Tuesday, of course]. Christmas and New Year's were handled in similar manner depending on when they fell in the week.
Two days a week pickup -- this is/was in warm country. Garbage rots in the south if you only get one day a week pickup. :-)

Collect garbage from different towns or different areas in a city. They work all week just like everyone else. I bet most people you ask will have different trash days...

They pickup trash in a neighborhood where trashday is a different day than yours. No worries though, sounds like you and your fiance are a perfect match! Congrats

LoL, I think you're right. We live in a large city where it is trash day somewhere every day except for Saturday and Sunday. I assume they do what all of us do on our days off; relax!

Well on Monday they work in such and such a neighborhood, on Tues. they work in another neighborhood, etc.... In small towns like ours, Our neighbor has a dump truck and he collects on Mondays. The rest of the week he has his own recycling center processing metal.

I think they on going through/working with the garbage. They have to work more than one day a week......that'd be crazy if they didn't.
