He sits beside me in class and he always talks to me even if I'm so shy and quiet... I usually just smile when he talks to me and yet he talks to me everyday... and he keeps on bringing up things about me (my past) that I wouldn't have expected him to remember or even know... and it always seems like he's responding to my msn name on his msn name... and I've known him since elementary school, but we never really talked...

It is possible he likes you or it could also mean that he is trying to be friends with a gal he has known for awhile.It could also mean that he recognizes you are shy and he is just trying to reach you and be friends.I suspect you guys have been in contact since you both seem to know a lot about each other's past;more than can be explained by your respective msn names. The next time he sits beside you and talks to you, respond in kind even if it is only with a hello you are nice. Then take it from there and things will progress on its own.
