Every day? Every week? Every month? Or only when you feel like, and then you just pick it up and open it randomly? Only in the church?

Do you search for what you want or you read only what the pastor tells you to read?

I not go to Church anymore. May one day. I read/search everyday. Usually I search and find what I need to know for a question I have. If, I not need an answer I like reading, just to read and browse.

Every single morning, have not missed a day since Sept. 2001. I read it thru cover to cover over and over. I also wander around OT to NT checking supporting scriptures from other books to whatever book I,m currently in, highliteing favorite verses and making notes in the margins. I never get tired of reading it and I learn something new each time thru. My Bible is my faithful old friend and I call it my roadmap since it will lead to heaven some sweet day.

Dear Janet,

i read the Bible daily. It helps to have a Bible reading plan- so you don't just randomly open a page. It also helps to read books of the Bible- like start in Chaper 1 and read through an entire book on consecutive days- so you can build on what you've learned from the previous day.

I usually begin with a time of prayer asking the Holy Spirit to teach me God's word- and it's also important to respond to God in prayer-- so having a conversation with God. So whatever the Word teaches you for that day- you repsond to- if the word was on speaking words that build up- than i ask God to show me where my words do not build up- and ask Him to teach me and give me opportunities to build people up. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to me - who He wants me to build up.

You can also find Bible reading plans to finish the Bible in a year- or purchase a daily devotional which has a passage and a short summary- and you can read the Bible along with that.

Hope that helps. Kindly,

Nickster

I have a daily devotional that includes related scriptures to look up that I read every night before bed. I also have a handy little scripture book called "God's Promises for Your Every Need" that I often read. It has scriptures under different catagories that relate to whatever I'm seeking or however I'm feeling. For instance, there is a section of scriptures for "What to do When You are In Grief" or "In Need of Patience", etc.

Janet,

I have opened my Bible 8-10 times today, either looking for a particular scripture or to refresh my mind on exactly what a scripture said. I refer to it often as the need presents itself.

But I do prefer to "study" it daily, usually when there is enough light to read by outside on my patio. Normally, I study by subject, but none of this is "written in stone". I have studied it while waiting at the airport.

sometimes its hard for me to just find the time and patience to sit down and read the Bible...but I've recently actually realized that it really helps me to draw closer to God. It really really helps. So I've just been reading it before I go to bed for about 5-10 minutes. I just open it up to Psalms, if I want poetry or Matthew if i want a good story, or James because it has great memory verses.

Depends. On my own time, I read it just like a regular book, in order. And sometimes if I learn of a passage that will help me through something in my life, then I jump around.

I've been reading it more ever since my pastor told us that every time you close your bible, you close God's mouth.

Every morning after the kids leave for school. Sometimes before I go to sleep.

I started a few months ago with Genesis, and I finished John this morning.
