Aaron: Research the history of the Ouija board first ! Once you realize the type of "tool" you have in your knowledge, think twice about using it to conjure up "things" you will later, be sorry for. It all begins as "fun" - you take it and it results in eventually taking you. I know a few people, who used the board in a seance. They ended up in running for their lives since it scared them. Later on, some of them claimed to be bothered in the middle of the night while sleeping. One guy told me he felt something or someone tug on his hair and awaken him. He said this went on for months ... he was just terrified. Eventually, he ended up talking to someone in the occult about this and she told him, that it is very common to have "spirits" come around and bother you. He had to ultimately, get a priest or a Pastor of a church involved. The spirit or spirits went away after that. One of the other people during the seance, involving the Ouija board, had a change of his voice and he was uttering various things in a completely different tone ... this event caused havoc and terrifed everyone, who was there. This person - he didn't recall anything about saying the things he uttered. He remembered the candles being blown out (they were in a cottage by the lake with the doors and windows open) and feeling very cold and scared. The choice is yours there, guy.
If you dabble in the things of the occult, expect to eventually gain more than you bargained for.

Ouija boards are controversial, and I can see that most of the people who have answered so far don't believe in their validity, but I do believe and know what is capable with a Ouija board.

I'm a member of a group who investigates paranormal activity, and I have had several experiences using Ouija boards. Here are a few key points. Don't use it alone. Some feel it's not safe to use alone, and you may want someone else there to verify what happens (if anything). Experiences with Ouija boards can be positive and negative, so be prepared for anything. I have had experiences where nothing happens, and have also had experiences where the board was swept off the table into the next room. Also, never ask for someone specific, like "Are you there, Grandma Jane?" If there is a presence, it is nearly impossible to identify if it is really your relative or not. Anything could be communicated through the board, so you don't want to run the risk of having indecent things coming back. Keep the questions simple, like - is anyone there; how old are you; where did you live, etc. Good luck!

You should be careful using a Oujia Board. If you do not know how to protect yourself, you open yourself up to other influences. The Board is a portal to the spiritual realm, it is not selective on who shows up to greet you. You open the portal to ALL spirits, good and malicious. Use it with Caution and if you do not know how to seal or protect yourself, don't do it.

No!

I used to dabble in the occult. Ouija boards are linked to demonic spirits. It's not that they know the future or past. The problem is in how the demons manipulate you by the answers.

Don't play with fire and you won't get burned.

NO the dead are best left in their own realm. dont disturb their sleep. (on top of that, pretenders often answer rudely and WONT go away). if your dead relatives have anything to tell you they will. when you die, you become all knowing so they know how you feel and what you think, no need to try and explain.....

How will you know if you are really talking to them? Stay away from these types of things because you are opening yourself up to potential evil. My opinion, but better safe than sorry.

I believe that our relatives who has died are aware of us & what we are doing. Sit w/ something that reminds you of them & just chat w/ them like you would if they were physically present.

No. Because chances are, whatever you're talking to, isn't going to be your dead family.

My problem with ouija boards is that an unsteady hand can skew it all. So skip it and just try to contact them through your own mind.
