not bad for sum1 new. Once you feel somfortable with your camera and taking pics, move onto more complicated forms of photography.

Aside from the compositional problems, your pictures are very flat, lacking pop and contrast. The storm ones were undone by auto settings, particularly WB. The colorful cloud didn't look in focus, but the color was better.

Your landscapes didn't have much of a point. The 5400 is a capable camera. I am glad to hear you are taking classes. In addition, I recommend a book called "Understanding Exposure", by Bryan Peterson. Start learning the art and keep practicing. Photography is a fun and rewarding (and sometimes frustrating!) hobby. So have fun and keep at it.

Not a lot of imagination in your composition. Just normal everyday snapshots.

When you pick a subject, ask yourself, "Self, what can I do to make this more interesting?". Try changing your location, getting lower, or higher. Dont center your object, place it to the side of your frame, to include a background or foreground. Pick secondary subjects to include with your primary, and change locations to include them both in a pleasing manner within your frame.

It takes practice. Keep up the shooting, and you'll get there.

landscape is you pointing and clicking.

try still life and playing with some lights. maybe get someone to model for you. try using white posterboard to reflect light too.

try to emulate these cats. also, going to school might help.
