The chart you are looking at is a base pay chart and is monthly. You will receive pay 2x a month, on the 1st and the 15th. This does not include any BAS (basic allowance for sustenance) or BAH (basic allowance for housing) or any other special pay, so the actual amount of your pay will be more than what is on this chart.

Monthly. You are paid on the 1st and 15th unless it's a weekend/holiday, then the day prior. Take that number, and divide by 2. That's what you'll make roughly every 2 weeks. And no, it's not a stupid question. There ARE stupid questions, but this isn't one of them.

The chart shows the total for grade and time in service.
You would get half that on the 1st and 15th.
From what I have seen on here semi monthly is the only option now. Back when dino's roamed the earth we had the option of monthly or semi monthly.

That chart gives you the total monthly base pay. They take that amount and then take out taxes. Then add any allowances and other pays. Then take out any allotments you have. Then divide the amount left in half. You get half on the 1st of the month and half on the 15th of the month.

The amount on the chart show your Basic Pay for the entire month. You have an option of getting paid once a month or twice a month. You decide that when you join.
There are additional "Alowances" and "Pays" that you get depending on your job, assignment location, maritial status. Most of those are tax free and vary depending on where you live. Those are also divided in half if you decided to get paid twice a month.

But Look up BAH (basic Allowance for housing for Soldiers living off post) and BAS (Basic Allowance for Subsistence) and add them to your monthly total if you are trying to compare the salary.
