some atheists say they would prefer Hell rather than accept God.

How does this make any sense? There is no logic behind it.

Some said because 'He is a tyrant', which isn't the case at all. As i have mentioned before, all the laws in the OT were designed to create a "perfect" society, so they pretty much had to be strict. Since no one was able to accomplish it and follow them properly, God had to send Christ to show them how. Explaining how to do it is one thing, but doing it is a completely different ball park and Christ made it look easy.

Assuming God is a tyrant is, i believe, a personal fallacy. In a sense that atheists only like to pick and choose what they want to believe and make it sound worse than it actually is... which happens a lot, oddly enough. This is, also, not a very smart way to approach things as it becomes self-deception.

Well hard to be too serious about places that don't exist. Atheists are just clever enough to realise both are undesirable places. Eternity is a monstrous concept, living without free will also (otherwise first lustful look and it is back to square one), living knowing that others died because they didn't accept serving a lord also hellish. So while we laugh knowing neither exist, we cringe at the thought that those who do believe it, don't register they are both hellish places to be and one's dignity and ethics are better preserved in your hell than your heaven.

What I've seen in the questions presented here are a lot of skeptics and scoffers asking "straw men" questions.

An example of a "straw man" question might go something like this: "Do you close the living room curtains before you beat up and abuse your wife and kids?"

It is all about making someone look bad by stating a lie about them, then turn around and state just how bad the other person is, as though they actually did what they suggested.

By the way, my sample question is a "yes" / "no" question, and the only way out is to start "justifying" yourself and go into denying, in which case the asker would say something that implies "Me thinks he protests too much".

Personally, I don't answer those questions - I just point out that the question is foolish.

Personally I would rather be punished than go against what I believe to be right. So if the god who runs heaven says that hitler is there because he believed in god and repented then I am heading south.. I am not afraid to stand up for what I believe in even if it means eternal suffering. Do you understand that at all? Let's make a little scenario... ok so say I read a book that tells me to kill people with blonde hair, or I will be devoured by rabid foxes eternally in the pit of damnation.... I don't care what the punishment is, I wouldn't do it because I know it's wrong. To me everything about religion is wrong... from god sending bears to kill people to saying a woman should marry her rapist.. I simply don't think it is right and I dont want anything to do with ANYONE deity or not who condones such things. So in that case I would rather suffer in hell for the sake of upholding my morals than be on the side of what I think is wrong... for the sake of some reward.

Obviously no one would if it sounded even reasonable. What is even more amazing to me is why someone would try to convince an atheist or anyone else that a God of love would create someone knowing that they would be tortured in the fires of hell for all of eternity. Whether by their choice or not He still knew before hand. Who is the sane one here?

Funny, that sounds more like Christians to me.

If God was so all-loving, but created an eternal fiery pit for people to burn in, I would haate to have to stay with such a hypocrite for so long.

It's better to rule in Hell, than to serve in Heaven.

I could imagine someone choosing hell, especially if they get cold easily...

who'd actually, after making an intelligent search into what hell actually is, would choose to go there? There is no friendship, no love, just an eternal fixation on nothingness, and remorce and hatred , stench, torments of devils and eternal non stop pain and misery.
