Hello. Well I am an American and also a practicing Muslim.I think America is one of the best places in the world to live.Americans can be you're best friends and they can also be you're worst enemy. The sad truth is that alot of Americans are getting their education on Islam through the media and their getting alot of Half truths and down right Lies.I believe that people are people no matter their race or religion. Some people are good and some people are bad.I have noticed that alot of Muslims have a chip on their shoulder Lately. They are sick of trying to defend themselves.Imagine If you blamed every white catholic American for what Timothy McVeigh did.I think that that would be unfair.I dont think that most catholics are interested in blowing up inocent women and children.I walked into the post office last year with a big box that I was mailing to my Mother for Mothers Day.Every eye in the place was watching me.It really made me feel bad.My father fought for this country I have as much right to practice my Religion as anyone else does. I Am not a supporter of the war in Iraq.I feel like we were lied to.Afganistan was necessary because we were attacked by a group of people who were operating military style camps there with intentions of doing harm to us.No one thinks that Saddam Husain was a good Guy but It should have been left to his neighbors to take care of him.If you read up on the history of Iraq you will find that they always know how to get rid of a Leader that they dont want.I am proud of who I am I am a good person I dont deserve the dirty looks or the suspicion. But every group of people in America has been mistreated at some time in our history or another, I guess that now its our turn.I am still proud to be American though I just hope that we can learn to trust each other again.

I feel the world is changing too much because of American influence both positive and negative.
I respect Americans, it's just that we Muslims here are always abused by anti-MuslimnAmericans that sometimes I fell hatred.
But it's not fair to hate a nation because of a small minority.
I should ask the same question: Americans, how do you truly feel about me as a Muslim?

First answer I'm sure I'll get would be terrorist.
Second would be Osama bin Laden's back up.
Third and so on would be negative.
Why?
Because half of the US population don't have a good view of Islam and Muslims since 9/11.

Why do I hate Americans?
I don't hate all, I hate Bush for invading Iraq and pretending he's winning. I hate people who just are against me for no excuse.
The war is not winning.

May Allah S.W.T guide us all.

Edit: Killing an American a high honor? If it was true, you're already dead. Just because terrorist are targeting Americans doesn't mean Islam honor killing Americans.
Shish, give me a break.

Assalamu 'Alaikum

I am 63 years old.
I was born in the U.S.A., am of Swedish descent, have always lived in the U.S.A. and served my country in Vietnam (Two Tours). A retired U.S Army Major.
I was a Christian practitioner for 30 years
I am a Sufi (a practitioner of Mystical Islam), 33 years
There are 7 million humans that are worshiping within the Islamic Tradition that are United States Citizens as of July 2007. These are peaceful citizens.

The (Second world War) was called "the war to end all wars".
The Iraqi situation will soon be called "the war with no end".
I was against our presence in that area from its conception.
In the beginning I stated that it would be difficult to operate in that area, and the withdrawal would be even more difficult.
The civil conflict has added new dimensions to many ongoing problems. It may seem difficult to pull out, but this is the only thing that will allow the people in that region to solve there own affairs.
We must not try to occupy another nation. This is in error.

"May Gods Mercy and Grace be with us all."
Salaams,

I am Muslim AND American. I dislike much about the American government and I feel morals here are failing miserably. But, it's still my homeland and I know how lucky I am to be here and to have the freedoms I have.

About the war... I think the president went about things in the wrong way and for the wrong reasons. Now he has a huge mess on his hands and no way out. The man has none of my respect.

I have nothing against Americans. Many of my close family and friends are American. I visited the states a few summers back (I live in Canada) and I had no problem openly practicing my faith there. Everyone treated me just like they would every other human being. But, I don't like the US President, and I think the war is unfair. Many innocent people are dying.

I am an American -- why can't you realize that there are Muslims who are Americans -- people that were born and raised here who chose Islam for their way of life???!!!

I don't know you so I cannot say....even before I was a Muslim I had the ability to analyze situations and criticize myself and my own country without putting everyone in one group.

I think you meant to ask "Arab/Persian/Indonesian/European Muslims, how do you truly feel about me?" or better yet "Non-American Muslims, how do you truly feel about me?"

As for the war I was against it before Bush became president. That's right, back then I wasn't a Muslim but I sure knew GWB would be going to war with Iraq the first chance he got I remember long discussions with friends on this subject matter....Iraq wasn't even part of 9/11.........

History shows us that American administration is warlike and aggressive.
"Fire first and think after"
You made several wars against the English , Mexicans and even civil war.
You slaughtered Indian peoples ( ethnic cleansing )
Wars against Japan and use of atomic bombing twice and MDW use larga manu else where.
International weapons trade.
War against Korea,i
War against Viet's
Economic strangulation and blockade of Cuba
Cold war during decades
Several secret CIA (and others)operations and strokes of states in all the world round.
Destabilization of south American countries and gov'ments
Creation of a Zionists entity in the middle of Arab states and support during different wars and slaughtering (against Palestinians too)
Supporting of Taliban against USSR, you furnished them with weapons and ammos, contributing to the birth of Al Qaeda then.
Supporting Iraq against Iran
Oil wars around the world
War and supporting of Koweit against Irak
War in Irak, slaughtering people...... Abou Gharaib excesses, Guantanamo illegal prison or concentration camp ...
Poor int'l pollution policy.
Immorality of certain ways of life.
Deep differences between Americans in the wages and rights
Racism
Muddle in elections. Pseudo democracy.
Diktat of Oil companies and A.Rifle.A and well known trusts and holdings.
.Poor knowledge of customs, civilization, and religion of other people and trusting some illuminated brain stormers or think tankers
........................................................................................................
All these actions are those of a rogue state.
The reactions of Japan, WTC attacks are secondary to the injustice or (economic) unfairness of the policy. USA gov takes part instead of being neutral or fair in some conflicts.
Even proud American people are victim of such aggressive leaders.
Americans are blamed for supporting such unfair policies and voting for criminals.
My best friends are Americans. We mutually respect our scientific researches and we admire each other!
I won't kill anybody, but I ' m ready for self defense.
