It may sound a little rediculous, but I really didn't know.... Is it true that when they say the phone is unlocked in the US, you still have to unlock it in Trini? Because I always thought that when they said its unlocked, I no longer have to worry about doing that, its just to slip my SIM card in when I get home & ah good to go... Trini possey.... a little help on this matter please.... Thanks......lol

once your phone is unlock and it is a GPS, you can go anyway in the world and use that phone with the country sim card. some phone companies like sprint have phone that don't use sim cards, so you can only use it with them. i'm with t-moblie, i call them request to get my both phones on my accout unlock and they send me the unlock code via the e-mail for my both phones and i did it myself. it simple as that. but if you purchase a phone that is not from any company just from the manufacturer you may have to pay a fee. the iphone cost a whole lot to unlock, so be sure to get info on any phone before you may a purchase.

If your phone is unlocked it is unlocked. You never have to do it twice no matter where you are. It sounds like someone is trying to rip you off. Get a Trini sim card and stick it in the phone. Make sure there is some credit on the card. Your phone should pick up the network immediately. If not. Whoever said they unlocked the phone did not. good luck or sorry depending on which.

Edit: Of course your phone must be compatible with the band width of Trini. But a good modern GMS should cover all your bases.

To unlock is about $20 to $30 TT. And yes you have to frist know if the phone would work in the US and Trinidad. If yes, your phone need to unlock he phone if you buy it in the US when you arrive in trinidad.
